• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Summer Mesh Jackets --Pros/Cons

I use a Fieldsheer mesh jacket that has an outer textile shell that zips on plus a liner for for colder weather. It's really good year round. Of course, being in SoCal we don't get extremes...only when we go looking for them. Tripod :joke:

    Is this normal?

All very normal. Get ready for the questions like, "can you take it on the freeway?", "was that a snowmobile"?, and of course, "can you do a wheelie"? And for those timewasters, pick up a wad of brochures next time you're at the stealership. Tripod :joke:

Any one receive free hat coupon from BRP?

Got mine yesterday. The service guy didn't seem sure of what was happening so he took me over to where all the Can Am gear is and said "pick one out" It's very cool...white with a metal Can Am logo on the front, a BRP logo on the back and a Y Factor logo on the bill of the cap. Score! Tripod...

    Exhaust Pipe Wrap

Last summer there was a lot of talk about wrapping the left pipe to mitigate heat reaching the rider. For those that have had the wrap for awhile now...was it worth the effort and expense? If so, what brands do recommend? Thanks, Tripod :doorag:

    Question for Phantom owners

I am considering getting the Phantom kit. However, most flat finishes that I have experienced are easily scratched and some are heavily rubber based and scratch and peel as well. Please let me know what your experience with the BRP kit has been. Also, how has it faired after washing? Thanks...

    what would you suggest...

I don't know where you're located in SoCal, but consider talking to the service guys at North County House of Motorcycles in Vista. They "get" the Spyder, and John is just about the best Spyder Tech there is. Tripod :joke:

    Need Experienced Opinion on Mufflers

I have a Hindle, relatively new and tight, that is just too :cus: noisy. I ride in a lot of noise abatement areas and have gotten "the look" from the law. So, what in your collective opinions, is the best aftermarket pipe to give me some nice sound but is not obnoxious? HMF, Yoshi, Two Brothers...

    matte black cleaning product?

I use Mother's Back To Black. I use a soft brush, so it gets into the "grain", then wipe it off. I've been using it for years on the bikes, cars, etc. Tripod :joke:

    Trivia Question

BRP has always refered to the Spyder as a roadster. There have been many automotive Spyders models, all open top roadsters, mostly of foreign (other than USA) origin... Porsche Spyders, Alfa Romeo Veloce Spyders, Mitzubishi's Eclipise Spyders, etc. Since BRP is a French Canadien company, I'm...

    RT Shocks or Sway Bar?

I maxxed out the stock front shocks and set the rear with one step from max and run 20 lbs in the front tires. I still wanted a flatter ride so I got the sway bar from Ken at Evoluzione and now it's just right. When it comes time for new shocks I'll go with the IKON units. Tripod :joke:

Where to buy in San Diego

Got mine at North County House of Motorcycles. I'm very happy with the sales and service todate. Their Spyder service guy, John, seems in tune with the Spyders "personality". If you need any other info, PM me. Tripod :joke:

    Magellan GPS Help Needed

The spousal unit was making a trip to the Big Box Store and I asked her to pick up a current edition of a particular Thomas Bros. Guide. They were out of that particular one, so, being the practical girl she is, she brought home to me, a Magellan Road Mate 1700 GPS unit. I consider myself very...
