• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Lithium battery...

There were no foam blocks. I used what I am used to, wood. I build furniture, make custom crown molding, etc., so its easy peasy.

I went through amazon... somewhat more than the yuasa, but if it does actually last longer...

    Lithium battery...

I bought the lithium battery and the lithium battery tender junior. Surpising how much lighter the battery is... Its also much smaller, so I built a wood spacer for three sides to hold it still. I also like that it has four poles on it, so mains can connect on one set, and all the accessory...

    PERFECT day for riding!~

I did my chores, that way I could have a clear conscience. Suited up, oil checked, earphones in, helmet on, phone plugged in... wait, no juice to the phone? oh well... Put the key in, and nothing. Its only been three days, and not cold. Dangit. Put a tester on the bat, showed 5.89%...

    ok, who is it?

I noticed on ebay there is a "safety card" up for auction. $25 BIN. who in their right mind would spend money on replacing this thing? I sure wouldnt... :sour:

    alignment/wind deflector updates

I did my own alignment last week. Today, I logged three hundred miles, and if that short mileage is any indication, its better. The bike feels more relaxed, tracks straight, and isnt as twitchy. Now to watch the tires... I have the wind deflectors on, with two mods, and like the way they are...

    tire wear

I am not sure that I want to tackle it, but I found this... its interesting and instructive... http://www.gospyder.net/spyder-DIY-alignment.html

    tire wear

Yeah, thats pretty obvious. I am trying to understand why something would wiggle out so suddenly, no impacts on any thing, etc. :dontknow: daggum dealer wants $270 for that. yikes.

    tire wear

I noticed some excessive tire wear on the inside of the right front (as you sit on it) tire. See the pic. Otherwise tires are great, 9600 miles total. The other side is just fine. I assume this is caster? I find it odd that one side would do this, seemingly out of the blue, it was fine 2000...

    Rivco peg mounts/forward pegs

and THHAT is why I got the spyder, too. I did let the goldwing take a nap once, and was able to employ the butt first technique to right it, but I paid for it... both hands planted on the floor, butt in the air... it aint pretty, and I make sure there arent any rubber bands around, fearing a...

    Rivco peg mounts/forward pegs

No drilling at all. three bolts to remove. two have to come out with a small magnet, but it was quite easy. the only thing that slowed me down was getting up and down from the floor. my body is so buggered up that I look like a toddler trying to stand for the first time, and I frequently take...

    Rivco peg mounts/forward pegs

I just installed the Rivco peg mounts. It took me till halftime to install ;) (radio) but was pretty easy. Solid, well made. The feet position moves out about 6-7 inches and forward about 16 inches. Recommended. (mine is an 08) final mount and position final mount on the right side Early...

    exhaust donut?

its funny how things work themselves out. Got the stocker on, with slight leaks, but close enough. Its not much quieter than the aftermarket, so back it goes... at least its nice outside, and I spent the afternoon doing something fun! lol:thumbup:

    exhaust donut?

I took my leo vince off, was gonna put the stocker back on. The diameter at the junction just outboard of the o2 sensor is different... The muffler looks to be unmolested, and I cannot imagine someone welding a 2-1 collector with 02 port just for an aftermarket exhaust. I can only assume there...

    mufflers/power...

I understand the concept, really the engine is just a big pump. More in more out, etc. what I am wondering is, just how much help the muffler will add. Trying to decide if its worth the effort to swap back to teh old. If its a huge change back to the old, I wont do it. If it subtle, I might...

    mufflers/power...

I have the leo vince on my 08. Kinda loud for my tastes. since I have the original too, I wonder, what do the mufflers doo for the power anyways? some say snake oil, some say dragon slayer... What say you?
