• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bluetooth doesn't work with XM Radio???

I called four of the other local Can-Am dealers. All of them confirmed that the Bluetooth dongle shouldn't need the XM radio connected to work. Also called BRP. I sent the above bulletin to the dealership that did the install. Hopefully this gets solved soon.

    Grumpy at Motoplex

I called the service department of some of the local dealers. Lifestyles Honda - XM works with the Bluetooth, no problem, no need for disconnection. Brothers Powersports - Of course they work together Clem's Enumclaw Powersports - No problems they know of. Larson Powersports - They've seen...

    Grumpy at Motoplex

Since I was about to fly down to San Diego to drive a rental truck back to Edmonds, I dropped off my RT for it's 5000 mile maintenance. They did the usual work, along with replacing the balancer shaft and oil seal gasket ahead of time, (they seem to be treating that as a recall and doing it...

Bluetooth doesn't work with XM Radio???

Hopefully it's something that simple. I called BRP today and while they're supposed to get back to me with confirmation, the support person said they didn't see any reason why it wouldn't work and no reason why the XM system should have been disconnected.

Bluetooth doesn't work with XM Radio???

Done, thanks. I checked out page 2 of this document, it seems to suggest the XM system does work with the bluetooth. http://can-am.brp.com/content/dam/seadoo/Global/MY2014/Documents/Community/Can-Am-Bluetooth-Communication-System_EN-blog-.pdf Looking forward to finding out what the story is.

Bluetooth doesn't work with XM Radio???

Since I was bringing my RT in to Motoplex for service, I figured that I'd have the bluetooth dongle installed. When I picked it up, I discovered that the XM Radio was no longer connected. Motoplex told me that the XM had to be disconnected to install the bluetooth. I knew that you had to...

    Spyder Rental

Last week I flew down to San Diego to load a truck up and drive it back to Washington. When I went to "Renty Car Rentals", I discovered a bright yellow RS available to rent as well. It's a bit pricy though: "Rates: $96.00 4-Hours, $140. 8-Hours, $160. Daily (24-hours), $499. Weekly, $Call for...

    YE OLDE MERRIE ENGLANDE!!

My spouse was born and raised in Essex (yes, I've heard the jokes), in a village she describes as "a wide spot in the road with a pub attached." She said she house she grew up in was called at times "the new house" because it was only 300 years old.

    Cognac.......

The one I saw at Lynnwood Motoplex reminded me of "caramel". My 12 year old daughter, on the other hand, said it reminded her of "poop".

Snow in Edmonds made this a not happening thing for me.

How do you thaw the ignition switch out

My local Spyder dealer suggested using a key deicer in the short term, and making sure a light amount of lube is in the lock normally. A tip from a Goldwing rider up in BC also suggested getting one of those reusable hand warmers, activating it, and holding it on the lock for about five minutes.

    Cognac it is...

So I saw one of the 2014's today. Noticed the different "face" in the front for better circulation, and a few other details. I thought the dark bronze "Cognac" colour wasn't bad, though not what I could like. My 12 year old daughter / back seat rider, however, looked at it and finally said...

How do you thaw the ignition switch out

I don't have a garage, so it's going to have to be the latter. Trying to figure out a cover or something I can place over the switch when parked in cold or rainy weather. (the rainy part being pretty much most of the year here in the Pacific Northwet)

How do you thaw the ignition switch out

Frozen in that the key doesn't even go all the way down into the lock.

How do you thaw the ignition switch out

Ack. This happened to me this morning (temp is -1C / 30F). Looking though options now. An ignition switch cover seems to make more sense.

Well, I'm glad that Motoplex is doing right by you, even if the delay is a PITA. And it sounds like maybe I need to keep an eye on those issues for my 2012 as well. *Grumble*

Girl Scout cookie sales started today. My daughter's troop leader suggested I park Bitsy in front of the store and load the frunk and saddlebags with cookie boxes for advertising. *chuckle*
