• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP issues Campaign to address heat issue for 2013 models!!!

The last sentence in item 2 talks about the rider feeling excessive heat. That is the problem with some 2013 models? It sounds like an attempt to fix that as well as correcting an erroneous hot code when the engine is cold. Sounds like progress to me. :)

    Valve Check

This may be simplistic but could the answer have something to do with BRP only ever seeing their Rotax engines out of the frame? They build Spyders and send them to the dealers to sell them on. Sure, they suggest mileages when consumables should be renewed and certain components checked but the...

    Motorcyclist 2014 Spyder Article

We were forced by circumstances to buy our Spyder RT after a stroke left me with a balance problem. I kept my wonderful BeeEmm R1150RT for two years hoping that my brain would mend itself and allow me to get back to normal -- I could imagine leaning the bike over to take a corner but knew that...

    Motorcyclist 2014 Spyder Article

You have no motorcycle-based expectations or habits to shake off. Think yourself fortunate indeed, it took me at least 6 months to become really at ease with the Spyder's handling, based on 40-odd years of riding 2-wheelers. I found the transition to three wheels very difficult to get used to...

TELL ME AGAIN ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING ???

David Cameron, the British Prime Minister, has today said the severe storms and heavy rainfall we've been experiencing in the UK over the last couple of weeks could be caused by Climate Change. Hands up all those who thought it was just a spell of bad weather. me me me me me me me me me me...

TELL ME AGAIN ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING ???

You are absolutely correct but is a qualification necessary before a thinking human being can be allowed to express a layman's opinion? There are examples throughout human history where learned experts working alone or in isolated cliques has lead to fundamental errors of judgement, errors which...

TELL ME AGAIN ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING ???

The UK Meteorological Office has just announced that the UK this week "celebrates" a full 21 year trend of cooling temperatures. In the past the Green Lobby used to refer to it as "Global Warming" but now they call it "Climate Change". The new name is a good strategy -- particularly as the...

Making the 2013 Spyder RT-S "Perfect"

Thanks for that, the automatic use of brakes in TCS's had somehow passed me by. Wikipedia carries a full explanation. :opps:

Making the 2013 Spyder RT-S "Perfect"

Surely, traction control is an engine power-output management function, as is the SCS? I can envisage a heap of problems if the rear brake was used to correct traction or stability excesses induced by the rider. Brakes applying themselves fills me with horror! (Unless it's an up-market...

Making the 2013 Spyder RT-S "Perfect"

It's in the eye of the beholder, as always. When first I sat on an RT-SE5 I remember thinking how neat and uncluttered the bars looked without levers. Then I espied the Command Center and switch gear on the left and knew that my digits would be on a steep learning curve if ever I was to buy one...

Making the 2013 Spyder RT-S "Perfect"

I too have a long history of riding bikes and like you I find myself reaching for a non-existent front brake lever even after almost 3 years of Spyder riding. I have had to make two emergency stops in that time where the Spyder's brakes saved the day, both times riding 2-up, once with a stack of...

    Digital Fuel Guage

Welcome to the best Spyder forum on the planet! Yes, there has been talk of bouncy fuel gauges on SpyderLovers, seems you either have a jittery one or you don't, luck of the draw. The one on my RT reads steady. I don't think the fuel gauge and temp gauge are directly connected to each other...

    Front tire swap affect alignment?

My understanding is that when the belt is adjusted with 1/16th inch clearance on the inside of the rear sprocket, the rear wheel sprocket and the engine drive sprocket are aligned within specification and the rear wheel and its tire runs true. The front wheel toe in/toe out adjustment has no...

    installing Garmin Nav unit

I believe the reason why the Zumo has its control buttons on the left side is to leave your right hand free to control the twist grip. Weatherwise, the Zumo is fully gasketed and according to Garmin it can spend 30 minutes in a bucket of water without drowning, (tho I wouldn't try this party...

Feeling a little bit of a surge on bike

I have noticed a slight surge without cruise employed. It happens now and then when I settle on the speed I want to ride at and keep the twist grip in one position for a spell. A small movement of the throttle, opening or closing it a fraction, stops it. My RT has done this from new so I...

    Share your story with BRP

Hi Steve My UK phone number does not lend itself to xxx-xxx-xxxx but I faked it! You won't be able to call me on the number I posted but I had to put some darn thing in your standardized box before my entry form would send. :ani29:

Has anyone wondered if? Just putting it out there

A warranty is a warranty. BRP has proof? A posting on SpyderLovers isn't proof of anything. Most folks are smart enough to use noms-de-plume (pen names) such as Snoopy or Mouthpiece. There are a few brave exceptions, aren't there, Bob? :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:
