• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    3" or 4"

Maybe sit on your bike in the position you feel most comfortable in. Have a measuring tape in one hand spool it out a bit, fiddle with hand height (rise) and how much "pull back" you want, and measure. I did that with the 1" BRP riser already on and it's the additional 3" ESI riser for me. Not...

92 degrees, 103 degree heat index = nasty running Spyder..

Hot humid air despite it "feeling" heavier actually has less O2 in it. Water vapor displaces the O2 molecules. Although at near sea level I'd think not a biggie for FI, I wonder if the symptoms are like those you get from lean conditions. I live in Southeast Florida and we've had 100+ heat...

    risers?

I'm taking the plunge with the 3" black anodized (I have the BRP 1" at delivery and have the takeoffs to prove it?!) on a 2009 Full Moon SM5. Ordering online now. "So easy a caveman can do it..." I'm not a caveman, so we'll see, but they WILL go on. :dontknow: Pete

    Bruce Rossmeyer Killed in Montana

RIP Mr R you certainly did have a rep for supporting charities - a very good thing. Your South Florida dealers were/are a bear to deal with. None the less... Pete ...and you should have been wearing a helmet if the news report is accurate, but still RIP.

Air Box Oil anyone tried this?

I do this and located my catch can low using about two feet of hose from the crankcase down to the catch can - "attaches" to the oil resevoir - and then back up to the air box. I actually thought to mount it there for ease of observation with just one panel removal (no screws). 2009 SM5...

Any negatives for the ISCI floorboards?

I wonder how difficult it would be to fab up a "receiver" for your Kury pegs that would mount in one or both of the ISCI hi-way mount locations (I think ISCI has two mount locations). I mean they are just holes - maybe threaded :dontknow: Pete

    Comfort Seat, Passenger Peg Extensions

Re: the BRP passenger peg extensions...words are gonna fail me here. Focus of the part of the extension bracket that is bolted to the Spyder. Is there a round piece that recesses into the existing bolt hole on the Spyder or does it bolt up flush. I ask because I see by design that the peg...

    Clearing a CEL

I'll post a longer more detailed writeup on my dual setup based on parts I bought from Evoluzione later on. The local shop doing the work finished up today and even after doing the battery disconnect and Ken's O2 Sensor and high flow filter the Spyder has a CEL. Runs good in limited testing...

Airbox Oil - Oil Smell... Took Spyder apart... Time for questions and observations.

I routed mine back into air box. Sorry, no pictures, but I used about 2 feet of hose from the crankcase in a non binding arc to the catch can which is "attached" low down by the oil resevoir and then back up to the air box. Pete

    PE 1026 is no more

One of our cars does this too, but now you got me thinking... Is the coolant still circulating in these 'system" where the fan continues to run after shutoff? In each case (circulation or not) what is the relative advantage of the fan still running after engine shutdown? Seems to me that...

    possible cause for fires?

I have always been under the impression that fuel vapors - in the proper concentration - are much worse due to a potential (near) explosive effect when an ignition source is present. I assume raw liquid fuel will/car vaporize especially if it hits a hot surface like an exhaust pipe, but is a...

This was posted some time ago: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showpost.php?p=43530&postcount=12 A bit different. Thanks for the directions to the other site. For anyone interested, Ken at Evolzione reports the following correlation of bars to temps: 1 = 153 deg 2 = 171 deg 3 = 183 deg 4 =...
