• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    HolyCow! Nobody warned me.....

...how much of an accessory money pit my Spyder would turn into. I bought it around Memorial Day. An RS SE5 version that I ordered with 4" handlebar risers, sport rack and passenger back rest, ergo drop passenger peg extensions, the largest touring windshield, and a "Comfort" (hah!) Seat...

    Helmets?????????

Vented half-helmet for me, with a removeable shorty shield that comes down to just cover my nose. Keeps the bugs out of my eyes while still being cool on hot days. I've got covers for the ears for later this fall.

    Checking oil

Okay then, why not check it cold in the "lower sump"? Doesn't it ever collect in one area where you could get an accurate cold measurement?

    Checking oil

We should be measuring the oil in the crankcase...LIKE EVERY OTHER ENGINE I'VE EVER DEALT WITH! This procedure is ridiculous.:sour: A few seconds too late in getting to the dipstick and you'll get an erroneous reading and have to start the engine again to re-check it. Checking it cold, in...

    Watching the SE's RPM

Watching the speedo in your video, and thinking to myself, "Holy sheep shavings!!!", until I realised it was reading KMs.

    12,000 mile tune-up... Expensive!

I wonder what they'd say if you took off all the skins yourself before you rode it in.:roflblack: It'd look like a real sci-fi machine.

    Spyder Sightings

I just finished my MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) three-wheeled safety course today, so I got to see two RTs and another RS in my class during the past two days of exercises.

    acknowledging other oncoming bikers

I'm an hour north of the York, PA Harley assembly plant..... lots of Harley riders around here. The vast majority low wave to me. Sometimes so many that I can't always wave back due to road conditions, or just too much attention to the traffic in front of me and don't pick up on the wave until...

    Attempt to steal Spyder

Yeah, just let them go, so they can do the same to 10 or 15 other people before they get nabbed. Then , of course, it'll be regarded as a first offense, so they'll get no jail time. Vermin!

    Spyder Sightings

I think I saw FrankPa today on Linglestown Road west of Linglestown. Big red RT heading east while I was heading west on my white RS at 11:35. I was kind of fixated on the traffic in front of me, so I just caught a glimpe as he went by. There's not that many Spyders in the Harrisburg area...

    carry a pistol?

Sure.... I've had a carry permit in my home state for 30-something years, and a non-res Florida permit for the past 6 that makes me legal in 33 states. It's like life insurance. I don't ever want to use it, but I wouldn't be without it. Bad things can happen too quickly for the police to...

    foot pegs floor boards..which one..HELP

Seal boards plus a booster seat have worked for me. I have a crippled up left leg, with a titanium femur replacement from the hip to just above the knee. The knee won't bend nearly enough to reach the pegs on my new RS, so I ordered the Seal boards even before the bike was delivered to the...

    PA SpyderRyders (SouthCentral)

I'm a noob at this. Just had my new RS out on the highway for the first time this morning, so I'll need to clock some more miles before I can go group riding. I live 6 miles north of Hershey.

    dirt road handling characteristics?

Thanks all. The driveway might be interesting, but it sounds like I'll have no trouble with the road. It started out as a railroad grade 100 years ago or so, so it has a very gradual grade.

    dirt road handling characteristics?

Hi, Y'all! First poster here. No Spyder yet, but it should be delivered and on the road by the first of June. I'll have lots of questions, and here's my first one. I keep reading that the Nanny only responds well to hard road surface. Now, this is of interest to me, since I have a cabin in...
