• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Let's talk Sunglasses

I'm in the cheap sunglasses crowd. I get non polarized safety glasses with cheaters built in. I've gotten them as cheaply as $8/pair but most recently, twice that amount. They wrap around and give good coverage without too much cost. I've got bronze/brown lenses and another pair with yellow...

    which ANTI VIRUS ?

F-Secure. $69/yr for 3 licenses and they cover PC and Mac. Stepson introduced us to them 15 years ago when we picked up a virus that McAfee couldn't fix. Never had a problem after that.

How many battery connections is too many?

Jim (Eastern Beaver) makes good kit and ships quickly. You would never know that the items came from Japan if you didn't look at the mailing address. He's a BMW owner and has been in the business for a long time (15+ years that I am aware of). I've purchased his kits on 4 occasions and have...

Are Spyders super sensitive to road crown?

FWIW, SWMBO's RTL was hard to manage in the curves. It tracked straight on flat surfaces so I was st a loss. A Lazer alignment showed that the left wheel was dead on but the right was toed out by 1/4". Best $100 spent on the RTL.

Spyder RT-S gas cap access through seat.

and to answer your other question, there is a hand brake available as an aftermarket part. It is not considered to be the primary stopping force but adds to the foot brake. ISCI makes it. http://www.industrialspecialty.com/isci%20-%20spyder%20parts.htm

when you have a few extra parts working on your bike

Not extra parts, just a clutch or clutch slave cylinder replacement. The 1150 engine is pretty bullet proof but the couch slave cylinder will start to leak after a few years. This may look a bit complicated but it way easier than getting at some of th parts under the RT Tupperware.

    Meanwhile........In an Alternate Universe

I do not recall the company but someone started to produce a 9" long coated wire with loops at both ends. You would utilize existing screws to tether the mirror to the bike. Its been 10 years since I've seen the product. heres something similar off eBay...

    Attacked!

I feel your pain... I was a passenger on an unfaired motorcycle. The rider took the brunt of the bumblebee's impact but I got the backend jammed into my right thumb. Luckily, I'm not allergic but it was still unpleasant. By the time we got off the freeway and stopped at a gas station, my thumb...

Installation of Garmin Zumo 660 GPS for Spyder RTS

Taking a stab at this one... if the wiring on the '13 is like the wiring on the '14 then the GPS is on the heated grip circuit. Are those working? Do you have a multimeter that you could use to test the circuit at the gps connection? Could it be dirty contacts at the cradle? My last bet would...

Helmet liner / beanie. Suggestions needed.

Live got the Sliks in both winter and summer version. The Summer one is a Silver Eagle brand made from the CoolMax material. When CoolMax material washes and drys quickly so it gets washed out after every warm weather ride. It's still going after 10+ years of use.
