• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

200 miles on one tank of gas

If we (RS Owners) have a 6 gallon tank, mine never allowed it... Lol. Im always putting in around 3.5 at fillup. I bet we are around 5.0 at the most. My modified GS (JB, Intake, exhaust) gets around 130m ish on rural roads before light pops on...no clue what remaining range is left...

Left-Side Alternative to Right-Hand "Fly By Wire Throttle"

Given the situation, perhaps a thumb throttle (left handed) could be fabricated. That way, you would have more grip potential during maneuvers? Never seen a foot throttle, but It cant be far fetched to create an assembly that sends the position of the throttle to the cpu for proper...

New Spyder Owner 2008 RS Premiere Edition- SHIFTING QUESTION !

NH- I had a zx-6 as well. I enjoy shifting around 6-7000. Sometimes 7500. At around 7, the higher gear drops to the sweet spot in the bottom end of its torque curve and really climbs quickly. Different exhaust brings that perfect music to your ears letting you know shes ready. :) Strangely...

    Over Heating at 197mi

Agree on the fan relay, coolant level and thermostat. Some dealers take um out of the box and prep them right, others are careless. It feels major, but I assure you this issue will only take a second to diagnose. Definitely let the dealer deal with it. We could walk you through it if...

    Question about coolant

I used a silicate free/aluminum safe premixed prestone. Maybe I read to fast and you found the problem already. If not, double check that coolant cap is on tight (beyond the indent), inspect coolant bottle and all hoses for cracks...the bottle has been known to crack. I have a link for a new...

    Nuts and Bolts

No thanks... I draw the line at 100F and 20F.. The heat off the asphalt at 100 is crazy. The windchill at 20 is brutal. Call me a wimp... No Dice! Lol

Is a Motorcycle Safety Course Recommended?

Good luck finding one here in Cali. Id go with you. They put you on these little 125s and have cones set up that a spyder wouldnt be able to cut through anyway. I imagine other states might let you take your own bike and if a Spyder rider, modify the track, but dont anticipate seeing it...

    Nuts and Bolts

Just a friendly reminder as its warming up on the east coast and us Westies are switching jackets... During cleaning I found mirror bolts mildly loose, windshield bolts less than snug and rock guards that needed to be retightened. I'm on a 2008 so just like Spyder riders, your bike might have...

Which handles better, Spyder or bike?

Agreed. I just asked for curiosities sake. I seldom have the chance to ride with the GW guys and gals... Just dont know..

Which handles better, Spyder or bike?

Interesting.. Dont have alot of hours on RTs. Would you rate the goldwings comparable to the RS then? Ive only felt a difference between the FJ, ST, Glydes for comparisons sake. Would like your view as a GW owner... :o

Which handles better, Spyder or bike?

I dont necessarily hand it to the 2 wheelers automatically. Maybe its bias on my part, but those heavy bikes (goldwings and HD tanks) look nice but handled like the titanic. The biggest bike I felt nimble on was a honda ST1300 or FJR. But they are more sporty. I like those two bikes...

    Initial 600 mile Service

Do your own maintenance. Oil changes, radiator flush, plugs and wires, air cleaner, etc are much easier than some describe. Im not a mechanic or engineer. It isnt rocket science. You have a ton of experience here. Youtube videos galore.. From trusted members no less. Save the right...

Which handles better, Spyder or bike?

Would agree with 1100 provided its a sportbike as he mentioned. I'd add all the two wheelers I ride with are cruiser/bagger types that arent super proficient either. We are generally about equal on our rides, twisties and straights alike. I enjoy the rides. Some of these guys talk a mean...

Correct. CA Class C only. Can test ride em in Northern Ca till the wheels fall off without M1. Don't know why they are saying that. Id go elsewhere.

    16 cell EVO2 battery 100-013

We used to run duals. No longer. Most crown vics and Tahoes simply have a huge alternator now. Almost no bulbs anymore either... Light bars are LED, and laptops replaced the heavy MDTs by motorola. Times have definitely changed

Saw a video on YouTube of one of those. Somebody dropped a Hayabusa engine in it. Insane
