• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Vid: spyder shacks during passing curve vid roads in MotoGP Prizewinner Cruise Laps

Exactly. These guys raced and won world championships on the must notorious, evil handling race bike of all time, the Honda NSR500. You had 200hp + on tap with a very narrow and sudden power band. The passengers won a competion and I guess would expect to be given a adrenalin rush for their...

Totally agree, funny how they're not so tough when you corner them out of their car.

    Rear Fender Support Brackets

Speaking to some fellow Spyder riders today, seems this is a big issue. One rider has had the fender brackets replaced 5 times in 66.000Ks. The other 6 times in less Ks. Mine broke today with 15.000ks. I know some of the roads are not great but this is ridiculous. If the parts keep failing why...

2 Spyders down for about a month.

I had noticed that even when my Spyder was brand new the front sprocket and the retaining nut looked like they had been in the weather for ages. Do BRP keep their stocks of new parts outside or something? I had made mention in a previous post that I had white corrosion on my engine a few months...

Got the lastest and greatest update today..

I really don't give a flying fig about the gas milage. Just want my Spyder to run as well as it did before. Quickly and smoothly. If I wanted economy I would have bought a scooter. All the talk about mpg is what prompted BRP to look at it in the update in the first place. The Spyder is heavy...

    Software Update Poll- Please vote

I have a Motad Venom muffler (db killer fitted) and the high flow air filter (no O2 modifier or juice box). After the update, engine runs smoother, no popping when throttling down as before. Power delivery is more linear which I am getting used to now. Haven't checked my plugs, but exhaust is a...

Hard to see $245.00 worth of product here

Thanks for the explanation. I guess I am just one of these people that has to know why is it so. Comes from 35 years in Telecommunications. Al

Hard to see $245.00 worth of product here

Ok just received email from Ken. The bump is to stop side to side movement instead of the welded on stoppers. Still allows the possibility of movement though over the welded on stoppers. But as I say I am not an engineer.

Hard to see $245.00 worth of product here

The original bar is the black bar pictured with the bolt on stoppers attached. The Evoluzione sway bar (red) has welded on stoppers which help to locate or centre the bar between the bushes or mounting point and stops the bar from moving from side to side within the bushes. The new Evoluzione...

Hard to see $245.00 worth of product here

Hey Lamonster There is no bar stoppers with this new design. I notice on the original bar there is bolt on stoppers and with the original bar from Ken there is welded on bar stoppers. I have just installed the bar as close to the middle as possible. Is this a concern or am I being a worry wart...

A good spray with WD 40 and let penetrate for a while and they change relatively easily with or without jacking. Definitely use a jack for the rear though.

    Bryans toasted Spyder

Unfortunately there where casualities, over 200 lost their lives to the bushfires and countless lost their homes. The Australian bush can be a beautiful place too live, but oh so deadly during a hot dry summer.

    Parking brake question.

Had the BRP parking brake mod done at my last service, all parking brakes issues now resolved. Locks on hard with just 2 clicks and release is now a breeze.

    spyder exhaust

I have the stainless Motad Venom with the DB killer fitted, which works out a tad quieter than the Hindle but still has that Italian sport bike sound. It is also a very compact muffler. Lamonster in his testing says without the DB killer the Venom sounds almost identical to the Micron. The Motad...

    Happy Australia Day

I'm dinki di, but my Mother's parents are from Birmingham. Must be the working class stock thing. Visited England in 2000 and while I felt right at home there, Oz is the place to be for Spyder riding. Although, we had some 42 - 43 degree celcius (108 Fahrenheit) days in the outer suburbs of...

    Engine corrosion

Don't know if i'm getting a little pedantic here, but I have just noticed some white powder on the engine casings. The type you get on untreated alloy. I know the engine is not in general view, but I think BRP could have at least coated the engine for protection. Some of you with lots of riding...
