• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    4 Cyclelists Killed

Sounds like a really bad accident. How was the guy doing any kind of speed in a construction zone, thought there was restrictions. Would never get on any bike without a helmet and I am glad its the law over here, cause if you come off then you got no protection. All the best to all concerned...

    Iphone Users

Well, when in a town or city, bike parked. I get a group of the same questions when I park. When I return to the bike I get the same questions again, maybe a couple of times. What about an app that I can show curious strangers, with all the info about the Spyder on one easy to view page. Would...

    2010 Photo Scavenger Hunt

That's what I was thinking of doing, but at this point in the race it would not be worth it. If I can get sixty five or seventy of the photos I will be happy. If there was just 70 or 80 points in the difference,, then !!

Hey Folks Can someone point me to the longest word that Roadkill has. My internet connection is so slow I could send a pigeon back and forth and it would be faster. Thanks:helpsmilie:

    Magog pics

Finally got to an internet cafe to view pictures and video. That's a LOT of spyders. Looks like a great place to have spent a few days. Some of the bikes are fantastic. Could do with more that 4 or 5 bikes in Ireland to hold any event :roflblack:

    What Was Your First Motorcycle?

Mine was a Honda CB250 which had some work done to it before I purchased it. Spent two days looking at bikes and this WAS THE ONE. The guys used to call it The Beast, exhaust was a bit loud. That was maybe 1987

GS Rear Tire Mileage at Replacement ?

Changes at about 9000, but could have done another 2k on the tyre. Have to drive 300 miles each way to get service done so I could not face another 600 miles just to change a tyre. A good one should do up to 15k I think.

    Advice

Whatever or Wherever you buy, check out the warranty that is going with the bike First. Check that all updates have been done and go for a couple of test drives in different conditions to check any DPS problems. Get good insurance cover in case of any breakdown where you may be stuck without a...

    license plate bolt holes cracked

Would suggest putting a metal plate behind with rubber washers at front and back of holes,, less vibration should keep things intact. Best rubber washers I found were from the old galvanised roofing nails, they are curved on the inside so when you tighten the bolt you have a spring type tension...

    Brake squeal gone!

Neighbours are waking up same time as me in the mornings, even if they don't want to,, got to back down an incline to get the bike out and it squeals like something possessed. Tried to freewheel down without brakes and almost took out a car while reversing around the corner at high speed,, now I...

    Deflector from MadStad

Will be looking for heated grips soon. When the temp drops, its not just the wind that is the problem.

    Rain Season

Unfortunately no BMW dealers that I know of. I am in the southwest and there are only two bikeshops that I know in the county and I have checked both out, no good. Would have to drive three hours to a Harley Dealer. Did pick up a Gore-Tex Berghaus storm overtrousers today, the ones with the long...

    se5 auto trouble

09 SE5 and no problems with shifting. Do get the DPS checked out first though and then get the dealer to sign some warranty that they will give you a replacement to drive if yours is in the shop at any time, and then get max insurance,,

How old were you when you bought your spyder? what are your thoughts on it?

Was 39 and a bit. Would still like to have a 2 wheeler also, and a car for the bad weather,, but thems the choices... and we can't have everything all the time.

    Manual vs Semi- Auto

If you are doing a lot of town/city driving then the manual could be tedious with pulling the clutch all the time. Coming from bikes, after getting used to the auto its great. Because its so different from a bike anyway then I would go auto given a choice.

    Rain Season

Visited a couple of bike shops recently and they all have the same,, sell sell sell LOGO and do not seem to have gear worth serious consideration. Visited an outdoor climbing shop and met someone who showed me really good Gore Tex, seam glued pants which would definately do what I am looking...

    Is this too much?

One great thing about this forum is the ability of everyone to discuss the problems and the best of :spyder2: issues. Yes there are problems, I had to buy my own DPS unit to replace the faulty one and I have no dealer to go to. However, if you bought a spyder for its looks firstly and secondly...
