• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2nd ride impressions

Thanks for the info on the Madstad brackets - I think that's the way I'm going to go - will wait till the Helibar is installed though. As to why the upright seating postion - call it bad lower back, bad hips, just stuff like that has made the upright postion on all the bikes I've had much more...

What to do with the frunk?

I did find this morning that the liner material works with male velcro tape very well. Do not like the way the owner's manual fits into the zippered area of the liner. SO it's at the bottom of the frunk.

    2nd ride impressions

I'm 5' 8" and probably shrinking as I age (72 now). I will definitely wait till the Helibars is installed before I do anything about the windshield. I'm more concenrned about getting into an upright seating position than I am with the wind over the top of the windshield as I wear a full face...

    2nd ride impressions

Much better today. Right turns good, left turns hugging the center line too much. 1st ride, I was way back on the comfort seat - to the butt rest - so my arms were way out, hurting wrists and back of neck. Still getting the Helibars but today I moved up on the seat - to the junk zone - and was...

What to do with the frunk?

Yes, that's what I'm looking for. Lousy picture though and fairly pricey. Screwed in place, not glued. They say they've sold 11 so hopefully someone on this forum will have something to say about it. Saw a velcro arrangement on Spydertalk that might be less expensive and do the same thing.

What to do with the frunk?

Forgot to mention that I do have the frunk liner. I like the idea of something attached to the underside of the hood itself. Anyone know the source for that??

What to do with the frunk?

Another noobie question - Spent some time yesterday going over my new Spyder. I'll be getting the Helibars later this week and I've read that there are no tank bags that will fit. So I'm looking down into the frunk and wondering how to use it other than as a deep hole with stuff at the bottom...

    Throttlemeister fitment?

I've read that the Throttlemeister will not fit with Kuryakyn handlebar grips. For those that have them, will they work with the BRP "Custom Handlebar Grip" from the Can-Am catalog (pg 46 of the 2011 catalog)?

    FIRST ride, impressions, issues

Thanks for the info. I'll have to see if I need the mirror extensions with the Helibar installed. Who supplies the extensions and can they be used with the Ultra Touring windshield??

    Evaluations: Evoluzione Swaybar

Checked with the dealer's tech today about the EVO sway bar. he said he's never done one but has put RT swaybars on RS. Anyone done this? Any comments? Thanks.

    FIRST ride, impressions, issues

Thanks for the steering info. As to the bars, Helibars on order as I write. Will have to figure out how to post a picture - oh well, it's a yellow RS with bags. Fun thing - when I signed on the July 2nd, I ordered 2 Nelson RIgg covers online, a half and a full. Both fit great. Half cover's a...

Tank bags that work with Helibars?

I guess what I'm learning from all of the above that if i go with the Helibars (which is what I want to do) I wont be able to use the Can-Am tank bag that came with my touring package. Nor use the 1" riser that came with the package also. Oh well, maybe they'll give me a credit. :sour:

    FIRST ride, impressions, issues

Just picked it up and rode about 40 miles. Still doing motorcycle things though, like foot down etc. Noticed that the front end is, for want of a better word, squirrley. Is this something I'll get used to?? Comfortable ride (comfort seat), could use lower pegs (hip cramps up) and the seating...

    Tech Sox, Inc.

I got mine 4 or 5 years ago at a motorcycle show. Bought 2 pair. Within a few months, some threads started coming apart on one. Notified them and got a new pair almost immediately. Have used them all the time as I wore high boots with Harleys and a BMW (extra thick soles so I could touch the...

    Forums and more forums?

OK so I'm brand new and wont have my Spyder till tomorrow or Friday. And I've been lurking and throwing out questions here for a few weeks now. And folks have been most helpful. Then I learn that there are more forums relating to the Spyders out there. I really like the way this group operates...
