• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Water Pump Ruins the season

I totally agree. If the dealer is any good they will get you running immediately. That is totally unacceptable! Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

    P1614 is in the House!

:hun:I know you prefaced your comment with "crazy", but if someone can actually give me a reason why a cramp buster would cause this problem, I am all ears. I have one on my 2012RTS, sure would hate to think it would cause throttle body problems......:dontknow:

2 wheel GL1800 Goldwing vs Spyder fun factor question?

I ride my Spyder RT faster in the twisties than my Yamaha 700 Maxim sport bike. Mainly because I feel more confident. No pegs to grab, gravel doesn't create problems. Really aggressive sport bike riders can do better I'm sure. But when I lead I usually create a lot of space behind me in...

    adding oil between oil changes

My 2012 RTS used about 1 1/2 quarts in the first 1000 miles. It slowed considerably after that. Maybe a few ounces every 1000 now.

    Time to pull the plug.

:agree: I learned about the training aspect when my RTS blew up shortly after purchase. Metro Motorsports in Cedar Rapids bent over backwards to keep me ryding with a loaner while their certified tech attended training. When he returned he completely rebuilt the bike and it has been running...

    Slight "surging" feeling

I have a 2012 RTS and sometimes while going down fairly level highways I get the feeling of the bike surging a little. I have a cramp buster on the throttle and know I am holding it steady. Anyone else experience this? I crank the throttle and the feeling goes away. Usually occurs around...

I also get the impression you don't like Apple. Post was just a little too vague though. :-) Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

    ST-L in the shop

My dealer is a big Harley shop and they also do a great job scheduling work on my Spyder and getting it done fast. 10 days in the shop would not be acceptable. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

Vehicle Stability System - Any Way to Make it Less Sensitive?

I guess pushing it is a state of mind. I have been able to do 60 on my RT through curves rated 35 one up and feel there is still more I can go..... I feel more comfortable in the curves than on my sport bike.... Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

    Spyder Pricing and possible competiton

The Spyder is a deal compared to triking a Goldwing......it isn't cheap but I can't say it is overpriced.

    man oh man!

:agree:. I really noticed the difference when I installed it as well. When we hit the twisties on this last trip the other Spyder was a 2010 RT Limited with the Elka's and a Juicebox controller. Ron's swaybar was the only performance mod I have on my bike and I was able to equal that machine...

Good trip - Learned a few things

I just got back from a 3 day, 1,214 mile trip on my RTS from Iowa to the North Shore of lake Superior, the Canadian border and back home. One other RT (Limited), a Kawasaki Councourse, and a Harley Sportster. Great weather, bike ran fantastic. A few things I brought away from my trip...

SpyderAnn, I can't resist....I envision your next Spyder with a flaming Betty Boop on the frunk. No, I have not been drinking...yet.

    "Catastrophic Engine Failure"

I'm betting Metro is hoping BRP will help out with a different engine. When mine cratered and he saw all the metal pieces in there, the tech didnt feel comfortable that he would find every little piece. Fyi, my engine was diagnosed as timing chain failure. Dont think the valve broke off...

    "Catastrophic Engine Failure"

You are in good hands. They are experienced with this sort of thing. They put a whole new engine in my RT after it blew up. Also a rare event but still very frustrating. I was just in there for service yesterday.... Sent from my SCH-R530U using Tapatalk 4

    "Catastrophic Engine Failure"

Just out of curiosity that looks like it is in Metro's shop in CR? They really went to bat for me and if it is Metro I'm sure they will go to bat for you....

    Engine

That doesn't sound right to me either. When my engine blew the dealer arranged with BRP to let me ride a demo. They had a new engine in it within two weeks. Would have been sooner but the tech was going to BRP school for Spyders. I didn't want to rush him, better to let them fix it...

Shorty Antenna compared to stock antenna ...

The $10 Walmart one looks great and I get as good of reception as I did with the stock one.

Another vote for Doc Martens With the bouncing (cushioned) soles. Good protection on the bike and very comfortable to walk in all day long.....

Did anyone take pictures of any kind of black mark on the pavement? If the wheel locked up there almost certainly should have been one.....
