• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    BRP SPRING PROMOTION

1.49% is what they were offering us back in the fall time for boats, motorcycles, RV's, we had everything we wanted so no need to take a loan, but 7.9 is NOT a good deal. If a persons credit is bad enough they can't beat 4.0 they probably should not be purchasing a bike!

That time of year for Spyder thoughts.

OK, it is now that time of year for us upper midwest riders to have Spyders on the brain . Most of the snow is gone now, and we should be able to get out to ride. Only problem is still snow in forecast for later this week. It is driving me crazy. Still lots of road salt / sand on the roads...

First of all, :welcome: We have the same :f_spider:, I know the feeling you are having. I am 6'1" and was feeling, well like I needed some leg room, and backrest. I went first for the Utopia backrest. This helped allot and I was able to ride many more miles without pain. Then the leg / foot...

600 mile service- sorry another question!

We purchased the Spyder, and rode 600 miles the first weekend. I called for service and could not get in. We were taking a trip and were also worried. The dealer said all the above, check fluids, and have fun. We went 1,500 miles before the first oil change service, the dealer was not worried...

    Cell Phone

I personaly like the Samsung Gallaxy Nexus, but that is because I purchased as new to the market, and loved that it didn't limit me to Verizon bloat ware, and capability limitations. With that said I usually keep a phone for at least 4 years. The Nice to have features when new become the un-used...

    Best Shift Point for RSS

This is an interesting topic. When I bought our RT Limited last Aug, I specifically asked the salesman while test driving. What RPM should I shift at? Knowing I had ridden all variety of 2 wheel bikes, He looked kind of dumbfounded and replied: "Well, what ever feels, sounds right." So for the...

    Engine Size

Hmmm, I never saw that one. I remember Gary Gnu 1960's The Great Space Coaster joke of the day: When you are cruising down the hi way in your canoe, and you get a flat tire. How many pancakes does it take to shingle the roof of a dog house? Answer: Ice cream has no bones ;)

    Mileage

This may be Key: I did not mention, I also manually shift down when slowing. I am not sure if it helps the fuel economy, but just habit I guess. It could be a contributor to better mileage I also ride like Ivor states, about 60 mph when I can, but we live in a bluff area with lots of windy...

    Mileage

You will find some other threads on this site about fuel economy. Depending on miles on the bike, you may still be breaking in the bike, so fuel economy may get better. You did hit the nail on the head though, it all depends on how you ride as well as what fuel you use. I personally never put...

    Don't Charge Battery

You should be fine. I saw on another post a while back, the circuit is rated for 3 amp. I am not an expert on this issue, however have had my tendor junior plugged in now for 3 mo now with no issues. Maybe some sparky out there could provide and expert opinion on the Spyder wiring to the rear...

    Tickets to Mpls Motorcycle Show

Received mine as well. Now to convince the wife we want to go. I showed her, and she did not say no, but she was not overly enthusiastic about the thought of letting me see the new Spyder's. She always tells me, you look, you buy. We will have to see.

Can-Am Roadster – Fuel Cap Replacement

And this is an example of why I love this site and visit daily. I went to the BRP site and it had no explanation / information that there was a packet being sent out. Just stated that you were to take the cap in this box and place it on the Spyder and discard the old one. I was looking all over...

Communicating with Jan on a new RT Limited

See this thread, look at my post #10 I posted about the Shark head sets. I love them. Note they are not voice activated, but I prefer that because wind noise keeps the VOC on most of the time. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?46657-GPS-INFO-REQUEST

    Don't Charge Battery

Rear Trunk Cigarertte Plug (Battery Tender) I have not had any problems. Tender always shows solid green after about 15 minutes or so. Remember Battery tender lighting will let you know if there is any issues. Blinking Red means bad connection, Solid Red means charging below 80%, and...
