• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Aftermarket LED lighting

I am looking at adding aftermarket super bright led lighting, initially to increase safety. First up, tail lights and updating rear turn signals to LED's and functioning as turn/stop/running lights. Custom Dynamics has a pretty good web site, products look good, and I love the plug and play...

    Spyder Software Update

Greetings fellow Spyder Ryders. How can I tell if I have the latest software update on my Spyder? Can I verify this the same, or similar way we look at trouble codes, or is this a dealer only thing? Thanks! BTW, summer has arrived! Finally riding without all the jacket liners and riding pants...

    Clutch Chatter

Called a good dealer, Rob's Performance Motor Sports in Johnson Creek Wisconsin and the tech said that is kinda normal. The oil is cold and has a hard time circulating through the clutch system, which sounds right, because when it warms up its ok. He said test it out by warming up the Spyder up...

    Gas Capacity - 6.1 Gal + 1 Gal Reserve?

THANKS! Really love the response! And, yep. it is listed as holding 6.6 gallons. It is good to read so many responses and get a general idea of what is going on. As for this formula - you have no idea how close I am to doing this.:2thumbs: If you are going to Spyderfest have a great...

    Gas Capacity - 6.1 Gal + 1 Gal Reserve?

The title says it all. How much gas, TOTAL, does a Spyder hold? Specs say "6.1 Gallon, with a 1 Gallon reserve". How much do you put in with the tank empty? i usually fill up with the "get out and push" light on, and I have one bar of fuel left. I put in about 5 gallons and change. Am I on...

Oil Refil, a bit over. OK??

I changed oil and over filled by about 1/2 by 3/4 inch. Checked after a ride. Should I drain (Syphon) out or leave alone? I tried so hard to get it right... As usual, thanks!

    New Trans filter length??

Thanks everyone for your help. Did my first oil change last night. Dealer did first one. The trans oil filter was 1.88 inches long, so dealer must have done longer se5 conversion at first change. The trans filter number is not the one mentioned earlier in this thread - but the filter the dealer...

    Lifting up a Spyder

A big ROGER on that one! I see the shock mount is solid for mounting a shock not for jacking up the Spyder. Good reminder.

    Lifting up a Spyder

ANSWER to lifting up a Spyder After I cleaned my garage out for the first time and officially welcomed summer;), I thought, "what the heck". I pulled the Spyder into my clean garage, placed my two plastic car ramps in back of the two front wheels, and backed up the ramps as nice as you please...

    New Trans filter length??

OK, I have searched through posts...can't find the answer. Could someone please tell me the length of the new transmission filter? I have a 2013 SE5. I want to make sure the dealer gave me the correct one. On a semi related note, I pulled the Spyder up in reverse on my two car ramps, no...

    Lifting up a Spyder

I have been looking and reading threads for a while. I am doing my first oil change and now to get my Spyder up in the air. I am thinking of driving the front two wheels up onto my car ramps and lifting the back of the Spyder with my trusty hydraulic floor jack, then placing the wheel on a save...

    Clutch Chatter

I know this has been the subject of threads in the past. Can anyone give me a definitive update regarding clutch chatter? I have a 2013 ST with the semi auto trans. It has 3,000 miles on it and has developed clutch chatter when cold, and also the shifts are a bit soft. When the bike warms up...

    ST-Limited Garmen GPS Help

I also agree that Garmin support is quite good. Got my Spyder brand new and the GPS was locked away in the saddle bag, and had the joy of setting it up myself, no problems. I was thankful for that. I am sure Garmin will make it right.

    ST-Limited Garmen GPS Help

I had the same "can't find the device". Make sure you plug in your garmin from the back plug that is located on the unit itself. Remove the battery door and it is located there. I initially attempted to plug in from the extra mount that comes in the Garmn box -no go there. Hope this helps out.
