• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    New Member with Spyder Envy

May want to get in touch with some of these folks; http://www.pennsylvaniaspyderryders.org/forum/ I joined, but have not participated in anything as yet. I'm a good bit south from most of their events. Seems like a nice group of arachnids

    Passenger's opinion of utopia backrest

Figured I should update this. We both love the backrest. I get to lean back and take pressure off the lower back on longer rides. She feels more secure, and has a nifty little place to put stuff.

Most comfortable long distance seat? Corbin, Russell, Day-Long, Ultimate.......

My wife and I both develop a case of sore butt after a couple hours or so on our stock limited seat. In an effort to satisfy both of us, I bought 2 airhawk r's. So far so good. Will know after we do another all day'r BTW; in case anyone is concerned about fit, the airhawk r fits perfectly for...

Is BRP now Recommending Manual Downshifting on SE's?

This discussion raises an interesting question. Like some here, I much prefer to downshift myself. Makes me feel like I have better control of the bikes response to varying conditions. However, as one who wants to treat the bike as it should be treated; Should I brake more than I do, and let...

WARNING FOR ALL RT OWNERS * You may want to check this on your machine

Very true. I know my shield hops around when traveling over the "bumpys".

WARNING FOR ALL RT OWNERS * You may want to check this on your machine

Have a bit over 5,000 mi on my RT. So far, so good. However, the poll shows almost 12% of riders have experienced a broken "dog bone" THAT'S A PROBLEM! I'd be curious to know, how many miles where on the bikes when the broken Dog Bone was discovered.

    Some good...some not so good

the ability to do a full burnout inside a garage, without hitting anything, requires a high level of skill. Kudos to your wife.

Wife drove the spyder for 1st time

In her youth, she was quite the hot rod. We'd race home in our cars after a date. She's mellowed quite a bit. Gone from a Harvey wall banger, to fine Cabernet. If you know what I mean. But you never know. Guess I can a least start dreaming about a new ride.

Not everyone can drive a Spyder.

I hadn't rode a motorcycle since before I was married. And I knew there was no way my wife would get on one with me. But when I showed her a spyder video, and she said " I could do that", well... that's all she wrote So now we have a spyder, and my wife and I are having a blast. If it was up to...

Wife drove the spyder for 1st time

After her short drive, I had her paying attention to what I was doing while driving. Explained RPM's, shifting, listening to the engine etc... If nothing else, she now has a greater appreciation of the spyder, and the driving experience. Which also makes her a better, and more engaged passenger.

Wife drove the spyder for 1st time

Beautiful day yesterday. We were out for about 4 hours, and odometer passed the 5,000 mark. During the trip, my wife kept looking for a large empty parking lot or school, so she could try driving. We finally found a large vacant lot in Pa. I had her driving straight back and forth, some figure S...

How critical is the oil dip stick O ring?

The case of the missing O Ring I puiled the panel on and off several times last night out of shear frustration. That stupid !%*#@ O Ring has Got To Be In There. SOMEWHERE ! :banghead: But once I heard from you folks (and my mechanic ) that a 62 cent O Ring from Napa Auto Parts will solve the...

Bajaron swaybar on a 2012 RT

I had just shy of 4,500 mi on my 2012 Limited when I had the swaybar installed. IMHO, the change is significant. Great bang for the buck.

How critical is the oil dip stick O ring?

I remember Lamonsters video on checking oil and panel removal where he mentioned the O ring. And I've tried to be careful. But I did just pull off the panel and check again. It's not there. But I appreciate the thread that refers to the 1" O rings. Looks like $1.50 will take of this minor issue...

How critical is the oil dip stick O ring?

Just checked my oil. Not sure if the O ring fell off or not. Damned if I can find it. I've emailed my dealer ( it's after hours now ), to get one if I need one. My question; How critical is the O ring. Could I ride the bike for about 1/2 an hour to the dealer? Can the O ring be bought at a home...

How do get yard work done.

I did get the lime applied today. Straightened out the garages, and blew leaves (AGAIN!) If I never see another leaf, I'd be happy. Maybe that's why I'm "FlaBound" Got lucky though. Made a grocery run on spyder for my wife. And ooops forgot the roma tomatoes. So had to go out for another...

    front suspension for two up....

Plyrod, I'm curious. Did you increase your front shock settings incrementally? I went from 3 to 4. Have not tried the 5 setting. If so, did you find a big improvement going from 4 to 5? As I said previously, I'm at 4. Seems pretty good. I figure a 4 setting still gives me a little "softness" on...

    front suspension for two up....

I too spend alot of time riding two up with my wife. Have the stock front shocks on my 2012 RT set to 4 (out of 5 ). Just had BajaRon's sway bar installed. BIG IMPROVEMENT. May want to try that first. It's alot cheaper.

First Day riding with BajaRon's Sway Bar..... Yaah Hooo

I'm gonna get a ticket.... Have to keep my eye on the speedometer until I get accustomed to this. Went to town to run an errand for my wife. Hit the highway, and realized I was in excess of 90mph. Passed a few 18 wheelers. What a difference. Took turns 15-20mph faster than before. Feel like a...
