• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tip on installing Belt Idler for the F3T

Just got though installing the Idler pulley on the F3T. Most will likely use Lamont's video to see how to do it the easy way. I found I needed to be able to hold that bolt in the socket while installing in the threaded hole. I use a piece of paper towel to capture the bolt head in the socket...

    Centramatic balancer 'proprietary oil'? ?

I come from the Goldwing crowd. I started using Centramatic about 6-7 years ago on the Wings. There is a proprietary oil with 3oz of what they call Durametal. It is a combination of zinc and lead in a # 6 shot. The reason for the Zinc is to harden the lead so it will not become misshapened and...

F3T mirrors shaking? Got a fix for you

Takes about 5 minutes each side. Probably one of the easiest and quickest fix I can remember doing. Buckskin

F3T mirrors shaking? Got a fix for you

Recently I posted on here if any other's on this board noticed their mirrors shaking/vibrating a little bit too much on the F3T and maybe the Limited? A couple of other's said they did. Today while adding some Lamonster goodies to the bike I had the mirrors off and decided to see if I could stop...

Hooking up Garmin 590 on F3T

Bruce, turns out the connector you show is now on the left side. I got the corresponding male connector I soldered up on he Garmin harness and ready to plug in. I checked the connector for power when the key turned on and it's a go. Now, I have a little what I think is a 3.5 male plug that is in...

Leaky valve stem on air bag?

FOBO is a great TPMS for the Spyder. Lamont has them. Many here on the board have them on their bikes. Tire pressure is important on the Spyder. You only have 20 psi in the front and a loss of 2-3 psi is a big deal as far as handling and tire longevity. Buckskin

Leaky valve stem on air bag?

I have installed a FOBO TPMS sensor on my rear air shock on the F3T. As you can see, the two fronts and the rear are reading pretty close to the baseline setting. The rear air shock baseline is 42 and has been sitting for a couple of days and is down below the 8% set point and the alarm is...

    2016 F3T shaky mirrors

I notice the left and right mirrors on my 2016 F3T are shaking while the engine is running. Grabbed hold of them and they both shake about 1/8" back and forth. I'm about to get into those mirrors as I have some farkles to install. While I'm in there does anyone have experience with tightening...

    2012 RSS SM5 - What oil?

Any chance of a picture of that live and ground connector under the seat? Seems that would be a little bit cleaner to bring some power to the handlebars and GPS. Buckskin

    Spyder in the shop!

Some others are making note of the possible sprocket giving out. Making grinding noises etc. You didn't mention in your first post anything about the clutch slipping before hand. Shop has pictures to send to BRP? So it sounds like they have torn the clutch down and can make a call on the whether...

I had a thread up about the bolt in 1" stem I installed in the front wheels on my F3T. Below are pictures. Buckskin

    F3T front wheel lug nuts

That's why I hate to take a bike to the Dealer. I do my own work if at all possible. Looks like they applied the rear torque to the front. That can stretch the lug studs and at twice the torque a failure may result. Buckskin

    F3T front wheel lug nuts

Now that feels more like it. But.......in searching this site the few mention of torque all say 77 ft lbs give or take a few. That's no where near 150 ft lbs. One is either too little or one is way too much. Either way something is amiss here. I don't want to pull 150 ft lbs and start stretching...

Bolt in metal valve stems on front wheels/F3T

I am running FOBO's on my F3T and I found the stubby rubber valve stems on the front wheels/2016 were somewhat recessed and did not allow a lot of room to screw on the FOBO's. So I got hold of a 1" straight stem and mounted it in the recessed stem hole. I ran into a bit of a problem as I have...

    F3T front wheel lug nuts

Well, I can tell you the lug nuts were very tight! In re-installing the wheels, I looked up here on the board and Google (not much there) and find everyone says 77 ft lbs torque. So I set the torque wrench and start working the nuts down. The feel of applying the torque til it clicked was very...

    F3T front wheel lug nuts

Today I went to remove the front wheels on my new F3T and found the first lug nut to be really tight. Had to get a breaker bar and a cheater pipe to break it loose. Went to the next lug nut and it almost spun off hand tightened. Next was the same?? I can't imagine one lug being correct torque...
