• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Steering ABC's

And that's what I was saying in an earlier reply, that maybe (in some circumstances) the Spyder is behaving correctly by adjusting to road conditions, but is being interpreted by the rider as out-of-control. That's not to say that some haven't experienced real steering problems, but rather it...

    Steering ABC's

I'm going to drop it off to Garganos for its 6000 mile next week. I'll have him do a complete look-over then.

    Steering ABC's

Yes, but in a quick jerk motion. Note, the handlebar is close to straight, off just a bit, then all of a sudden it'll jump.

    Steering ABC's

Please keep me/us posted what you find out. I'm not having any issues riding, but when stopped at a red light the handlebars (on occasion) will jerk back toward center. Not sure that's indicative of a more severe issue. :dontknow:

    Steering ABC's

So, if what you say is accurate (no reason to doubt you) then a slick foreign substance on the road, or uneven surface, may cause the brakes to kick in, which could explain the feeling of losing/erratic control. I'm confident the engineers at BRP are exploring all avenues. I'm not one to...

    Steering ABC's

Ah, stupid phrasing of that question on my part. I meant would that account for the pull in either direction? Not whether the pull would go to the left or right.

    Steering ABC's

:agree: Would that behavior be experienced as pull to the left or right?

    New Performance Air Filter System

:agree: It's slick... I have the same question, considering it's all buttoned up under the tupperware :dontknow:

    Steering ABC's

You present an interesting scenario, one which I've thought about recently too. I travel I95 through CT, and the tarmac has been grooved (unevenly) by 18-wheelers tires due to their excessive weight. The center is higher than the sunken area created by the tires. My PT Cruiser has a hard time...

    Zumo 660...I was amazed

Hey irish, that's excellent news on the breakage, or lack thereof. However, following the threads over the past few weeks it would be safe, consistent, and expected, to blame BRP for the Zumo falling off the mount. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: :joke: Sorry, I couldn't resist ;)

    Power steering disconnected

How do you expect BRP to fix the problems if ryders don't bring their :spyder:s into the dealers for troubleshooting and analysis? Your problem may be unique, in that, after they issue a fix you still won't have resolution because it doesn't address YOUR situation.

Update & 2nd Update issue; Steering LockUp WHILE going 70mph

Not sure what your point is here (no offense.) I didn't say, nor imply, the DPS powers off. I agree with your statement that the electronics continue to monitor, and it does re-engage once the speed drops below the threshold.

Update & 2nd Update issue; Steering LockUp WHILE going 70mph

It's my understanding, after speaking w/a knowledgeable source, that the power steering disengages above 60 mph. Stands to reason that at higher speeds a tighter steering response would be desirable for safety reasons. If that's true, the DPS shouldn't be an issue at high rates of speed...

Okay I"m at a loss for the RAM mount stuff

Be careful with the 260W, it's NOT waterproof - AT ALL. One drop of water in the unit will ruin it for good. That said, I mounted my GPS with the Clutch Cover RAM mount; sits on the clutch cover on the left hand side of the bars. I bought all the RAM bits from Whitehorse Gear...

    Garganos Open House

Just got back from seeing Bobby and scoffing down an egg sandwich. Garganos didn't get the RT delivered in time, so if that's what you're going to see (directed to the guy in NJ) I wouldn't take the trip up just for that reason. :spyder: is still running awesome. No steering issues and it...

Laminar lip for Spyder, anyone try it yet.

I spoke with a guy at Laminar in Santa Ana, CA a while back to see if they tested the Laminar Lip on a CHAD. They had not, but if someone would take their Spyder to their business they could measure it up and either recommend an existing model, or perhaps craft one for the CHAD. I'm 6'2" and I...
