• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    NOT HAPPY WITH MY SPYDER!!!

Had my update done at Gargano's by Bob Jr. about 500 miles ago and have had NO issues with my :spyder: How long have you had your :spyder:? Meaning, how many miles? It might not be the update, rather your :spyder: may still be breaking in. I experienced sputtering, surging, backfiring, etc...

    BPR Touring Windshield

A dealer recently told me I made a good decision going w/the CHAD over the BRP; this, after he was trying to sell me on the BRP 25" Apparently several people are experiencing a higher-than-normal (?) amount of exhaust fumes. Suggest you check around. The CHAD is working for me (6'2") and is...

Spyders in the White Mountains of New Hampshire

:2thumbs: If it's nice weather this coming weekend, my buddy and I will be heading up to Conway, NH for the Whitehorse Gear tentless tent sale on Saturday. 550+ miles round trip; great practice run for the Gatlinburg trip

Newest mods-Wizard Lights and mirror extensions

Not in CT Very nice! And you're lucky too... I was at a picnic yesterday and one of the guys there is an attorney. According to him, all of these lighting systems are illegal in Connecticut, and is an invitation for the LEOs to pull you over. :dontknow:

Blog-Rode from Maryland to East TN and then went for a ride today

Thanks for the great write-up. Wife's asking if I want to upgrade, she's really enjoying the rides we've taken recently. I would love to but not sure what the trade-in/re-sale of a PE would be. I may be waiting for a future model w/a larger engine ;) Can't wait to see it at the BBQ in a...

    Blog-My first self inflected problem

:roflblack: My wife asks why I keep it around since it's no good. I told her "so the next time you ask why I paid so much for a tool, you'll understand." :yikes:

    Blog-My first self inflected problem

I couldn't find my Craftsman wrenches (was too lazy to go into the basement), so I used the el-cheapo one I had in the garage.

    Blog-My first self inflected problem

Got torque? Now I don't feel so bad. I adjusted mine in the spring - put a piece of PVC on the end of the wrench for leverage, the pipe turned, the cam didn't... imagine my surprise :opps:

:agree: I have the same heating element. Inexpensive, two settings (low & high), and they work great.

    Another bad dealer....

Unless they greased the back of the pads it's likely the squeaking will return once enough brake dust & dirt cake up on the back of the pads again. This is what's causing the vibration to create the squealing IMHO. Let us know how the new pads work out after several hundred miles. Glad to hear...

    Another bad dealer....

I've fixed the squeaky rear brake by removing the pads and greasing the backs with a high temp brake grease. Adjusted them to the spec in the manual when I hooked it all back up. 1000+ miles so far and NO squeak, not even a little.

Got any questions about the RT you want me to ask?

What type of trade-in deal might they give to the original PE owners to upgrade, if they wanted to? I'm not sure I'd want to trade mine up just yet, but would be nice to see if they'd give us an incentive trade-in value ;)

    Recall decision

I'm puzzled by the whole recall issue since a) I have had no serious running issues with my :spyder: since I received it in April 2008 and b) my :spyder: is running great since the update. I just got back from a 50 mile jaunt up and down the highway and there's no hesitation, surging...

    New CHAD

Just got back from a 50 mile loop and was getting pretty nervous that I made a BIG mistake. After a few adjustments and tests up the highway, the jury's out :2thumbs: I'm 6'2", no risers on bars, w/a BRP Comfort Seat, and a Scorpion 1000 helmet. All the settings at 70-80 mph were way too noisy...
