• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Front brake pads uneven wear

You'll need to service the calipers when you replace the brake pads. After cleaning the pistons, pump them outward using the brake pedal and press them home, do this a number of times to exercise them. Don't accidentally pump them right out! They get a little bit of stiction which prevents them...

    Trying to decrease front dipping/scrapping.

Does your F3 have adjustable rear shock? Because lowering the rear lifts the front.

    Comfort seat mix up

However, if your partner feels the standard seat is too far back, (I note she has accessory bars to bring them closer to the seat.) the comfort seat will move her 2" further back than the standard one. You might want to rethink that.

    Tie Rod Ends

Inside is lefthand on the ones I've done but it's entirely possible the whole rod is on the opposite way around. Look at the outer end and identify it for right or left then the other end is opposite. The locknuts can be very tight but you can get to them properly by running the Spyder up...

Replacing DESS Module - will I need new keys?

That'll be me and we've had this conversation before. Whether you can do it with the front trunk on or not depends on your skill level. The unit is held in place by two m6 screws, (10mm spanner) and it's cable is cable tied to the chassis. The cable tie is the tricky bit, cutting it without...

What's the correct oil capacity for a 1330 motor?

My user handbook and service manual for the same bike have that discrepancy too. I put in 5 litres and it's always been fine.

Is it OK to change before the scheduled 3000 mile oil change?

Change it, no question. It's already full of micro metal particles from break-in of the gears and clutch plates.

    intermittant vibrations @ highway speeds

Yeh, but the real question is: Why do some bikes pluck the string and others don't? And, don't place your tensioner at the 7th fret or you'll get the second harmonic. And, with resonance at 80mph your belt will be too tight and you'll likely get a bearing whine at low speeds in the lower...

    intermittant vibrations @ highway speeds

That's exactly how the belt issue manifests itself, as the cruise control opens the throttle the vibration is felt then as it backs off the throttle the vibration disappears. The cruise is constantly adjusting the throttle so the vibes come and go. If you climb an incline the cruise opens the...

2020 RTL GPS Power Issue And Fitments

Nonsense, UK vehicles and EU vehicles have been negative ground since the 1950's.

    intermittant vibrations @ highway speeds

Two possibilities, both drive belt vibration. You've got a vibrating version of the Spyder or you've got a stone chip jammed between the sprocket teeth. Have you passed over any new road surfacing, tar and chippings, recently? Why it produces an intermittent vibration I've no idea but it...

Getting More Go Out of your Spyder

No, it won't. In the old days of carburettors, when the air flow through the engine increased, because that air flow drew in more fuel there was consequently also more fuel to be burned along with the extra air. With computer controlled fueling that is not the case so you may well get less...

    Switched power on 2018?

Your call, we don't know your expertise. Me? I'd cut it. Does the antenna need a clear view or can it be hidden? If you pop out the speaker grill there is a reasonable space under the plastic where a smallish antenna could fit. If you picked up power from above at the rear of the dash guage or...

    Switched power on 2018?

There's a number of places you can pick up switched power in the vicinity of the glove box - by glove box I presume you are referring to the storage area at the front of the seat. There is power at the rear of the switch panel Infront of the glove box, there is power at the rear of the fuel and...

2020 RTL: Does “Eco” mode actually work

I can't speak for the 2020 but on previous Spyders ECO isn't really a mode it's just an indication of recommended change points for maximum economy. The automatic down change points will be the same as non-eco mode.

    Help with audio cables

The bunch tied to the frame looks like an early version of a Garmin satnav cable. The jack socket with the red shrink fit is a non-OEM accessory cable - follow it through to see where it terminates. The grey cable by the multi-plug, dunno.

The spring in the OEM oil filter

If by 'spring' you mean the wire mesh supporting the filter medium, no you don't need to do anything with it.

    GPS Power Location

Good question, the supply is protected and if you draw too much current it switches off... don't ask how I know. Sorry, I don't know the threshold after which is cuts off. The harness passes through the bar's centre then on over to the right side where is passes alongside the fuel tank to two...

wiring diagram 2019 can am spyder limited heated seats

I've done this to a 2017RT. The rear seat control is prewired from the factory on my bike so it just needed to be connected to the seat. The connector was tucked under the left rear hand grip and the two stage control switches were set into the front of the left handgrip. The front seat I wired...
