• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Thanks to this Forum....

I concur... "Lots of the things I learned from the Forum are likely and certainly in the owners manuals but, alas, not everyone reads his or her's throughly." True, but I did read mine thoroughly and some of the stuff I learned here contradicts the owner's manual i.e. putting 19-20 psi in...

Helmet... no not a debate looking for options

Something to ponder..... "A 40 dollar helmet is for a 40 dollar head." By this same logic I should be paying a LOT more for underwear :yikes:

    NON-ETHNOL GAS

"BTW, you're still burning a carbon based fuel so emissions are not better anyway....argh!" Just because a fuel is carbon based does not mean emissions are the same (far from it) compare coal to natural gas. Both are carbon based but one's emissions (NG) are almost entirely CO2 (which only the...

Helmet... no not a debate looking for options

Nolan Not sure what you're looking to spend, but I had the a Nolan 43 (open face version of the helmet below) and it was the most comfortable and offered the best peripheral vision of any open or full face I ever owned. The pull down sun visor works great and is easy to manage as well...

    Gas capaity

Hmmmm "...I average just under 30 now but I ride quite spirited..." Wonder what the CDC would have to say about this spirited riding business? Sorry couldn't resist....;)

    NON-ETHNOL GAS

Mathamatically correct However, if you are getting 30 MPG, this would only account for a difference of 1.5 MPG. I know the difference was greater than that in my RS (I only have 1K on the Spyder, so mileage would be expected to improve but the difference was impressive). Have also noticed at...

RT TROUBLES......... I HEAR YOU LOUD AND CLEAR

Pete, I know very well the pickle in which you find yourself. In 2002 I bought an Indian Chief with Indian's new proprietary motor. That bike was in the shop far more than it was out (in the first year it had the motor rebuilt, the oil pump replaced, 5 count'em 5 transmissions, 3 speedometers...

GS, RS and RS-S Rear Seat Storage Units from Alien Arachnid

I like it, the backrest would make it even more attractive, and if the same unit could mount on the BRP plate for when I had a passenger, I'd buy one today!

Sold My Old Motorcycle When I Purchased My New Spyder - But Should I Have??

Voicing your concern was the right thing to do, beyond that it's his decision. I sold my 2-wheeler when I bought my Spyder also, and I have second thoughts as well, but mine are just because I miss riding the 2-wheeler. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Spyder, but I'm thinking I may just need one...

what type of fuel is best?

    Role Reversal

A bit off topic, but I have to say I love Tucson, and for that matter all of AZ (well except for Phoenix). Sabino Canyon, Mt. Lemmon, Old Tucson Studios, are all great destinations. Have you ever ridden 89A from Sedona to Prescott Valley? Without a doubt the most exhilarating road for...

what type of fuel is best?

Fortunately, I have two stations near me (next to one another) that both offer non-ethanol gas (I believe Conoco is always ethanol free) so they keep each other competitive, even with the ethanol stations. The mileage with all of my vehicles has improved with the non-ethanol, but the Spyder's...

    RS vs RSS?

Fox Shocks Pro10is has given the actual upgrades for the RS-S, broken down the Fox shocks offer a substantial improvement in handling;every other component works to create a sportier image, but does not alter performance. The upgrades are well worth the expense (around $1800 over the RS) if you...
