• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tech The current Spyder tech at Velocity actually rides one. In fact, it's a 2011 identical to mine. Seems to know what's up with our sometimes eccentric machines.Patrick

    OK all you OLD Farts

I've Arrived Yes, I remember both fondly, and I guess now I'm officially an old fart. Actually, my late father and old fart role model, moved us all over West Texas among other places, but..wherever we wound up he always found and befriended the local donut shop operator. And the ones I...

    Limp

So far, how does the ACE stack up for avoiding limp mode. Any cause will do. My 2011 RTS with 58K has limped on me for the last time thus prompting this query. This post is not to rant or start a rabbit trail about my current RTS problems, simply put is the ACE in an RTS any better off in...

Coolant check Sounds a lot like how my '11 access is. So now if I ever trade up, I'll know how to check coolant without having to look in that pesky owners manual.

Why yes When I changed my coolant the first time I wrung off the bung. Solution? Purchased new plug, epoxied in place and use the lower hose drain method. You live and learn. Patrick

My method I remove the plastic cover thing for the radiator cap/dataport access (has a pictogram of both) and shine a light from the rear of the tank. So, if the level is low, I am halfway towards topoff. My $.02 Patrick

Getting cold - How do you enjoy riding in the chilly weather?

What passes for winter With what we consider winter here in SC cannot even come close to what is encountered up north. That being stated, when we travel, it's the Gerbings jacket liners, the windproof armor, and grip muffs fore and aft. Good thing we have a trailer for carrying gear for most...

    Rotating front tires

Rotating What you want done is exactly what I do. I rotate mine every other oil change and it's worked wonders for tire longevity. I remove mine and take them to my regular tire shop. In my experience, most commonly used floor jacks are too tall for Spyder use so that's why I remove and haul...

    Shuddering when starting off

So now I see this Thread has been inactive for some time but my 2011 SE5 with 57K has started the chatter more and more. Temperature independent, oil state independent, as a matter of fact, the mechanic just had it for an unrelated TPS investigation, rode it until warm, and didn't say a word...

Potential to Make Some Money - Ram Air Scoops

Mine When Pyder was down with additional limp mode problems, I mentioned to my dealer that I would like the Heat Management mod installed ( I offered to share cost) and BRP absorbed the entire cost as a warranty item. At least that is what appeared on the invoice. Oh, Pyder is a 2011 RTS with...

    Throttle Body

Me too Pyder is in drydock again for the p1120 and p2620 and limp mode associated with tps sensing. I asked the dealer to contact BRP about this and got back something like ..The codes aren't there now, so BRP is reluctant to commit to TB replacement. This sounds like BS but it could also stand...

    Winter riding RT-S

Cold? Yes... We ride in cold or what passes for it in South Carolina. We have however, done some rides to the Midwest and points further east in comfort. We use heated jackets and sheepskins on the seats. I put guards on the grips (think 4 wheeler) as well as around the heated grips back aft. A...

    @#%! Limp Mode

Year and model The dreaded TB replacement has a lot to do with year and model. Some just need cleaning and recalibration. At least that,s the conventional wisdom around here. Oh, similar symptoms can be caused by vacuum hoses and pipes as well. Patrick
