• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Latest Update(steering)from dealer

Update:: Found out that the GPS has arrived but they are not going to put anybody on it until Monday. Then they will do alot of riding to see if they get any codes or funny feeling in the steering before I go get it. So maybe another hmm..2 weeks maybe. Not too bad, nice round number (12 weeks).

    Latest Update(steering)from dealer

Nope, BRP needs to stock up on feather dusters and send their techs on the road. That still blows my mind and makes me laugh alittle everytime I think of him saying that to me. :spyder2: oh :spyder2: where are you??:dontknow:

    Latest Update(steering)from dealer

:agree: Some people couldn't ride the spyder if it didn't have the power steering, and I think it is wonderful that it gives those the freedom that others take for granted. That just sends an extra chill up my spine thinking that if someone is riding that needs the power steering and it...

    Latest Update(steering)from dealer

I didn't expect but maybe 2 weeks. But what do ya do, we are at the mercy of BRP. Unless you want to ride it knowing its not safe to. Hopefully yours won't be that long. I've got to the point to where I don't call and complain to the dealer anymore. What good does it do, their only doing what...

    Latest Update(steering)from dealer

Update: This thursday is 10 weeks in the shop. Still no GPS to see if it fixes the DPS. I guess I am ok with it(SOMEWHAT) better than going and getting it with a temp fix then having to take it back. I have a Polaris 4wheeler that has no power steering/it has nobby tires and I can turn it just...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s02s30PAkog Maybe we should go this route, wonder if it has power steering.

    Latest Update(steering)from dealer

Wrong, most of the time its not the dealers fault, in a case like this they don't know what to do. If brp, the one that built this unit doesn't know what to do, how can you expect the dealer to know any more than they do.

Yeah I like the dealer, one of the most honest dealerships I have came across. No, they weren't the one that said that about the dust, that was CARLO!

    How Seriuos-Steering Problems-BRP Recalled nearly 10,000 Spyders

If you consider possible head on collision or going off road into whatever obstacle there may be serious, then yes its serious. I will ride it when my dealer says its ok to ride, but not with a passenger until I am able to put some good miles on it. Whenever I end up getting it back.

    DPS roulette

Your guess is as good as mine. Dps got changed out a week or 2 after leaving it. Then I was called to come pick it up, got there, started to start it and check dps scrolled. Was then hooked to BUDS, it said change dps. I came home. Got a call later that day, brp says change GPS not DPS. At this...

    Latest Update(steering)from dealer

Yeah, I haven't had any problems from them, they are just at the mercy of not doing anything til brp gives the ok. Why do you ask? Just wondering if I had a ok dealer? UPDATE:Talked to brp rep this morning, he said my tech file had that right now the wait is for the GPS to be put in to see if...

Who thinks DPS warranty should be extended.

:agree::agree:My 08 had only 283 miles on it when dropped off at dealer for steering lock up. Been there so far 8 weeks. So yes I do think an extend would be a proper move on their part.

    Latest Update(steering)from dealer

Thanks but I have already went that route awhile back, it helped in getting Carlo to call me, which let him be aware of the problem. Doing that again I don't think would help since it is already in the shop and it seems no one knows what to do. Otherwise I'd have it back after 8 weeks now. But...

    Latest Update(steering)from dealer

I'm not the most knowledgable one about the recall process, not ever having to file a complaint til now. Can they not do a second recall for a previous issue that was recalled?? When I think about it, it just doesn't make sense to me. When the first steering recall came about back in 09 june i...

    Latest Update(steering)from dealer

Your right, it just blows my mind that it can be so many different things. You would think we bought a custom bike where each one was similar but alot of different components. Has yours still been doing ok? Or has it got too cold to ride up there?

    Latest Update(steering)from dealer

That is what I was told was damaged in the original dps. So your sayin that it might have been damaged while installing the new one?? So to the customer it really comes down to, hold your breathe on the dps install hoping that they don't mess/touch the torque sensor while doing so. There is such...
