• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Michigan Spyder Owners "Beach and BBQ" Event

1998 to late 2000 I was living in West Palm Beach, Fl. I didn't keep up with much going on up here that's actually the first I've heard about it. The wife and I are going to head up within the next month but we'll probably take the Jeep.

Michigan Spyder Owners "Beach and BBQ" Event

Right now it appears the weather will be close to perfect for sunday but that can always change. I received 2 phone calls last week from a marketing group out of Colorado promoting the event, I guess they are really trying to push it. I haven't been at a Spyder get-together yet so I am...

Getting ready for work, a storm begins, you have rain gear; do you take the Spyder?

If it's already raining I take my Jeep, I still have not picked out rain gear yet. When I do I might :dontknow: take the Spyder. 22 miles to work - 10 freeway the rest 45mph backroads with lots of traffic lights (40 minutes). Since I took the bike home it has been my daily driver for work...

    RECEIVED BRP RACK AND BACKREST

I installed the rear rack and also had problems. Besides the installation directions, 2 of the nuts attached to the slide in plate where angled so the bolts would not go in :cus:. I eventually got 1 in okay but the other was forced in. The parts are a bit pricey but other than that I am happy...

    initial oil consumption

Thanks sabunim5 I will check the airbox. I know now I need to check the oil level more often. My dealership is backed up a week for Spyder work (so they say) so I'll be changing the oil myself.

    initial oil consumption

At 3200 miles I've been noticing my mpg decreasing so I pulled the Spyder 1/2 into the garage. Checked tire pressure..okay, pulled the side cover off and pulled the oil dipstick out...NOTHING. Wiped it off ..screwed it back in, pulled it out (okay cut with the jokes)....Nothing. Dealership...

    Gas mileage

Pre-first checkup at 700 miles I was getting 29.5, I was pretty disappointed. Right after that it jumped to 33.5 mpg and I was running it with alot of quick takeoffs and highway speeds (70 - 85). The wife and I took a road trip 100 miles, 60 @ 70 mph and 40 @ 50 mph we averaged 34.5 mpg with 2...

    Insurance Company Recommendations?

I am in Michigan also west of Detroit. The best quote for me was from Fischer (out of Arizona) $450 until he found out I had 2 teenagers then it tripled. Foremost was just over $800 for a year and that is who we went with.

    Got the word today

I got "MY CALL" yesterday. I had ordered a silver (or yellow if silver wasn't available yet) back in late Sept. The sales person called me and said he had a yellow coming in next week (this week now) and asked if I wanted it. I had to jump on the internet to learn the "Running Man" dance. :joke...

Who has their Spyder and who's still waiting?

I ordered mine from MotorCity Power Sports http://www.motorcitypowersport.com/ . I haven't checked with them on a status update in about 3 weeks because of the brake issues. It seems I get more info off of this board than I do from the dealer.

Who has their Spyder and who's still waiting?

Still waiting here, trying to be patient. Weather is cold in Michigan but right now the roads are clear. I'll jump on the chance when they call. If I can get a day here or there to ride I'll take it. Was #6 on the orignal list at my dealer, I've been next up for about 3 weeks.
