• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Tight clutch

You may have a problem. Most people don't realize the clutch is vacuum assisted to make it easier to pull. nojoke Maybe the next time you're in for service have them check it out. BTW I have the adjustable clutch handle a it works great.

Heavy shaking at 60-65mph allot of vibration

Mine had a bad shake at 60-70 mph just like yours. It would smooth out at higher and lower speeds. I noticed a visible vibration on the front fenders. The tires were out of balance. I just bought the Ride On stuff and put it in my front tires and no more problems. It works as advertised. It...

Garmin Zumo 450 GPS hardwiring.. what's the easiest way?

The accessory outlet is zip tied to your top, left A-arm. You can tap into it there but will need to remove the panels. This is fused at 2 amps and switched with the key. It has a slight delay when the Spyder is turned off, 15 seconds I think. :spyder:

    Got the Spyer today-Questions

Are you using the left handlebar "mode" button to cancel the message? Don't use the one on the gauge cluster.

    vibrations?????

Wow, I get quite a kick out of this thread. I don't mean to offend anyone but this is hilarious. If you want to feel vibrations just jump on my KLR650 thumper. It will make you appreciate the smoothness of the Spyder. :D:cheers::D

Center of rear tire and center of rear fender alignment question..

My fender is centered with the tire. At a closer look, the bar inside the spring of the rear shock doesn't line up center with everything else. It rides OK but now it's bugging the crap out me every time I look at it. Thanks:shocked::yikes:

300 miles with a major rain test

The most time consuming part is removing all the necessary panels. You may want to do this together to save time. Remove the panels on one of the Spyders and start the install letting your helper start removing the panels from the other one. You could have the install done in about the same time...

Great Deal on Garmin Zumo 550

Now all you need is the XM smart antenna for XM radio. The only thing left I need is to figure how to tap into the J&M microphone to connect to the Zumo for bluetooth phone connection.:dontknow: I need some time and I will figure it out.

    BRP HELMET/CHATTERBOX-BLUETOOTH

You will need a SWR meter to tune the antenna. If you know a CB'er maybe you can borrow one. If not Radio Shack has them for about $50.00 you will also need a male to male adapter cable. I think you will really like this setup.

    BRP HELMET/CHATTERBOX-BLUETOOTH

I have same helmet as the CanAm version, the Scorpion 1000 and it is a good helmet. J&M has a CB kit specifically made for the Spyder complete with installation instructions for the Spyder. They changed the push to talk switch to mount directly on the handlebar.

    BRP HELMET/CHATTERBOX-BLUETOOTH

I use J&M Corp CB radios for my bike and my wife's Spyder. They are hardwired and have an auxillary audio input with volume control. As stated before it probably takes less time than syncing the bluetooth. I gave serious thought about bluetooth but the wired approach won out for a few reasons...

Will the Zumo Do What I Want ?

The Zumo is great unit and yes you can mount it above instrument cluster but it wobbles like crazy. In order to get XM you will need to buy the optional XM antenna/receiver which is about 3 inches in diameter and almost an inch high. It will fit under the windshield but looks ugly so you may...

    Double-Take

I thought the same thing. The Spyder broke down when my wife was driving it (a whole other story). I went to see if I could get it started and ended up calling a tow truck. While sitting in my truck waiting an hour for the tow truck. Just about everybody that past it did a double take and...
