• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    RIDE-ON "vs" SLIME

I just nuked mine in the microwave for a few seconds until pleasantly warm and then squeezed it in. It definitely goes in easier warm than cold. Wish that they would produce it in those flexible tubes and provide a "key" to squeeze it in, or maybe a "caulk gun" type tube. nojoke

Are you running a Stock or Custom Spyder?

Mud flaps, fender tips, center tail light and triple play, handle bar risers, breather fix and canisterectomy. Is that a lot or just a few things :dontknow: Audiovox cruise control is next.:D

    Tok-Tok (new concept)

Cool, though I see no reason why it's £50,000 :yikes:

    Visor fog

I have an RF1000 and there is a pinlock visor offered by Shoei. It's a CX-1V shield and then you need the pinlock insert of choice. Some sites offer them together like here. http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/Pinlock_AntiFog_Faceshield_Shoei_CX1V_Replacement--633905.html

I didn't know Blizzack made tires for the Spyder ;) :D

    Clear, Dry and 21F......

I would have loved to have ridden today but what I own won't keep me warm at that temp. Do any of you ride in those temps with regular gear or do I just need to bite the bullet and wire up with heated gear? A poll for those of you that actually have cold weather riding......riders from...

Please don't jump on me for this...

Seems to me that there was a thread a while back where a guy disassembled the stock muffler and removed the CAT portion and then reassmebled the muffler........might have been on another formum.

    Robobrackets and Givi shield

The CHAD has an air gap and provides superior protection in cold weather at the expense of some turbulence at my helmet and a cold draft of air circulating around and hitting my back. The purpose of the air gap is to reduce the low pressure area behind the screen so that the air doesn't circle...

    Fast facts for busy people

Well.....if you removed the trunk there might be room for the prop :D

    Dielectric Grease......

Thanks guys, good advice all around. I think I'll stick to the liquid electrical tape on all connections and the dielectric grease on only the electrical and not the computer connections. Sunny weather tomorrow so I'll ride and then more rain expected so Spyder maintainence to follow.:ohyea:

    video- Steering issue

If I recall correctly early on there were several reports of DPS failure that began with a high amp draw from the unit. So while a weak battery could cause the same problem, a DPS unit that is drawing down the voltage in the system could just be a symptom of immenent failure. Also, many of...

    Dielectric Grease......

A few years back when I still owned a Jeep, one of the things that I did is waterproof the electrical system. Actually more like splashproof. The process consisted of using liquid electrical tape Amazon.com: Plastic Dip Intl. LET14Z01 Liquid Electrical Tape: Home Improvement on the outside of...

Fuel Line Chafing on my Spyder

+1:2thumbs: My 2008 SE5 was built in November and has the split loom on the fuel line. I think that this is an indicator that BRP has at least some rudiments of a Quality Improvement Program in place which is why I think that eventually they will get the steering problem(s?) solved. :pray...

    Should BRP feel slighted?

You couldn't pay me to take a Harley trike :barf: Now a 1200GS with a quick release side car.......yeah I could live with that.

    Power Steering Fuses

I agree that it's not a steering issue. Nick just noted that his corners were smoother without the DPS and so I just wondered if mine might not improve without it as well. Since I have a turn that I can reproduce the issue I just figured I'd give it a try. It's got a long sightline and there's...

    Power Steering Fuses

Interesting.....In my daily commute I have one turn that consistantly gives me trouble unless I take it real, real slow. It's a hard right hand to a steep uphill and the whole turn is off camber. Almost everytime I get a brief wiggle of the steering typically in the middle of the turn. I'm...

    Surge Cured

I'm not Don, But if you still smell gas and see liquid coming out of the vent hose then the canister is saturated with liquid gas and of no value in the operation of your Spyder. Just get rid of it :D

    Crank Case Breather Mod Question

Raw fuel does not make the oil milky looking, moisture does. To be expected in the catch can.....particularly now that it's colder outside. And while it looks like a lot that's an oil and water emulsion that takes up a lot more space than just oil. As long as there is no milky looking stuff...

Getting the gas fume smell on wifes SE5

It is possible to dry out the canister if you can keep it warm and well ventilated......probably a difficult proposition now that winter is coming on. Second choice it place the whole canister under vacuume.....like in a bell jar......that also would clear it of gas.
