• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Those that have done the cannisterectomy....

And a great many of us have experienced crappy performance and surge with high octane fuel. Some of us get great milage, some of us get poor milage. Some of us have canister problems others do not. I guess what I'm saying is that what works for you will not necessarily work for someone else...

Those that have done the cannisterectomy....

My milage is unchanged. You might want to tape a small container to the end of the tank vent hose and take a ride just to see if there is gas getting out that way......I'd bet not. The problem is probably somewhere else.

Getting the gas fume smell on wifes SE5

Getting the gas fume smell on wifes SE5

Yeah, I get just a drop or two as well. Probably vapors from the tank that condense in the vent line. Still even with that there is no smell in the garage that I notice, whereas with the canister in place the whole garage smelled like gasoline such that I thought the whole place might explode...

Dot 4 GTLMA And yes the code will go away......assuming that the fluid level is the problem....

Getting the gas fume smell on wifes SE5

First, you need to make sure that it's the canister. Check the gas cap first. Just a sniff around it will often be enough to tell if that's where the problem is. Make sure it's on correctly and not askew. Then check the gasket. If the problem isn't there then take the tupperware off of...

    FTC goes after bloggers -----

They're only saying that you have to let people know that you have a stake in the game. If you write a review of a windshield it might be necessary to let people know that you own the company that makes the windshield  Or that they gave you a free windshield or that you work for the...

Anybody using Rev on their iPhone?

The VSS and ABS is from Bosch and was originally designed for a car (thus the two sensors on the rear wheel. It just might be that the rest of the system is in fact OBD-2 compliant in order to work with the VSS and ABS. Might just be worth a try. I doubt that you will hurt the system by trying.

Running cold and o2 modifier question

I usually start the bike and then put on the helmet, jacket and gloves. It's usually had a minute or so to run. The oil pressure is up and all surfaces should be well lubricated. I ride slowly away and don't really get into the throttle untill I see at least 2 bars. It doesn't run rough...

    Can you bypass VSS?

The most common Nanny problem that I have is when turning right from a stop. Nanny doesn't like any rear wheel slippage if the front wheels are turned. So I get a sputter when what I'd like is just a little spin and some acceleration. If I could reprogram the VSS I'd widen that parameter and...

    low voltige questions

And if the connections under the tupperware (not under the seat) are tight and without corrosion then you just may have a bad battery. Though if you can trickle charge it and it stays charged (at the same voltage) for a couple of days sitting in the garage then the problem may be in the Spyders...

    RoboBrackets & Windshield Installed

It may be dryer than most but it's not dry enough ;) The rain comes up the CHAD gets to the top and then the drops fling themselves at my face and neck. I was just trying to figure out a way to put a ridge up there to direct them to the right and left and a piece of clear vinyl tubing at the...

    RoboBrackets & Windshield Installed

Great report  I'm thinking that this might just be my next windshield because though I really like the CHAD, I still get some buffeting at the top of my helmet. :sour:

    Purge Valve - Permanent Fix

And there's a roll-over valve there at the top of the tank that plugs the vent line if liquid fuel hits it. Even going over bumps with a full tank should not let more than a few drops out of the tank.

62k miles.... now you see it and.... now you don't

After thinking about this just a little longer and letting the first cup of coffee get into my system :coffee: This is an incredible feat.....you zero'd the odometer. One of our more inspired artist types should gin up a roll-over patch and BRP should have a special award. nojoke

62k miles.... now you see it and.... now you don't

Hey, congradulations on the new Spyder. Looks like you're almost ready for your 600mi service :roflblack::roflblack::shemademe_smilie: Maybe BRP should jack up the cluster and roll a new Spyder under it to match the milage......hmmmm

    Purge Valve - Permanent Fix

:agree:You're being paranoid :D There can't be more than a drip or two coming out of that hose which is totaly insignificant while you're riding.

    92 Octane and Surge

Needed gas and pulled into the station. There was no 87 Octane . I've always used 87 with no problems at all. Thought well, I guess I'll just try the 91 and see how she runs. 30mi down the road and I've got a very noticable surge at around 5000 rpm. :gaah: Now I'm going to have to...
