• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How to Activate Cruise Control on Base RS

Actually, from my brief review of the parts diagrams, it looks like the entire left and right control assemblies only come as full pieces and they cost $210 for RS (non-CC) and $400+ for RS-S (with CC). So be VERY careful in this mod process, you don't want to crack any of the small pieces...

How to Activate Cruise Control on Base RS

Wow! I was disassembling my right-hand controls to see how to fab a garage door opener where the cruise control is supposed to be & I found the cruise control electronics & buttons are all there. They basically replace the switch with a dummy switch and put a block off plate over it. You can...

    Large Luggage Rack for RS/ST

I need to make this work: Any ideas for a rack mount? Some forum member made a fairly large luggage rack for my late YZF600R. Anyone make a large rack for us?

What else am I missing from my tool kit?

Yep, those are the Fox Podium shocks. They were a pleasant surprise on my base-model 2014 RS. After digging around, I found it is officially a hidden upgrade for the base-model RS for 2014. Another reason not to spend extra on the RS-S ... unless you also want the wrench to go with them.

What else am I missing from my tool kit?

Thanks. Very weird. I actually have an additional phillips/torx shaft in my kit than the diagram. How are we supposed to adjust the adjustable coil springs then without the shock wrench - you would think that is one of the few tools you definitely need out on the road. I still never...

What else am I missing from my tool kit?

Bump. Can anyone confirm one way or the other whether I'm missing any tools besides the tire gauge. Thanks.

    Brake Fluid Question...simple question

Brake fluid is extremely confusing. You never want silicone brake fluid unless you have a very special application. DOT 5 is silicone (don't confuse it with "synthetic" - all brake fluid is synthetic). Non-silicones are DOT 3, DOT 4 & DOT 5.1 (yes, 5.1 is the opposite of 5). These 3...

What else am I missing from my tool kit?

Do you guys have the same tool kit with your '14 as mine or am I missing anything? Are you serious?

What else am I missing from my tool kit?

What about the shock wrench and the two "tube" tools? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What else am I missing from my tool kit?

It's still noted as "included" in the '14 owner's manual. I agree it's probably junk though. I'm most concerned about what else is missing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What else am I missing from my tool kit?

I just found out our Spyders come with an included tire gauge! Mine certainly didn't come with that. Now I'm looking to see what else I'm missing, it seems I'm also missing the shock wrench. The pockets where they go are pristine & unswelled, so they were never in there. I also saw a pic...

One of the cheapest & cleanest RAM handlebar mounts (BuyBits/Ultimate Addons)

Starting at $58 for 1 ball and It doesn't look like it fits these newer model handlebars. Otherwise, their systems only work with their hand brake system. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

One of the cheapest & cleanest RAM handlebar mounts (BuyBits/Ultimate Addons)

That's the RAM-B-252U base I was talking about that I didn't like because of the offset look.

One of the cheapest & cleanest RAM handlebar mounts (BuyBits/Ultimate Addons)

The new Ultimate Addons bolts require a 6mm hex socket: Finally, the kit comes with a nice black rubber cap. It fits fairly snug, but I'm going to try putting a dollop of Scotch Permanent Double Sided Tape (FYI, their "Removable" DS tape is worthless) to make sure I don't lose it: Now, the...

One of the cheapest & cleanest RAM handlebar mounts (BuyBits/Ultimate Addons)

It's outrageous that Spyder-specific mounts are going for $80 and up. I read lots of people's ideas on this board. I definitely wanted something that didn't require drilling. Probably the most popular is using the RAM-B-252U base, but I didn't like the offset look and it requires fabricating...

    Ram Mount

I just installed 2 of these: http://www.buybits.com/Product/18207/Motorcycle-Handlebar-Top-Clamp-M10-Fitting-With-1-25mm-Ball-Use-With-Ram-Sw-motech-Mounts-sku-18207.aspx Includes everything you need (the bolts are indeed M10-1.50) except you may want to get a couple extra M10 washers - I'll...

    Adventure Model & AWD/3WD

So I'm loving my new Spyder! It's actually much better in turns than I expected. Definitely an exciting ryde and haven't pushed the nanny limits yet. Spyders get a bad rep, especially from the 2-wheel crowd. I have some thoughts for BRP to help gain some street cred & exploit the benefits of...
