• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Scala Rider G4 Review...not very impressed...

Speaker position is key... Remove the cheek pads when fitting the speakers and use a mirror or someone to help see how they are located and oriented to your ear. Space the speaker away from the helmet shell with more Velcro if needed...end result is the speaker will touch your ear very lightly...

Scala Rider G4 Review...not very impressed...

The iPod function of the iPhone works as soon as the BT connection is made...unless you are talking about through the nav unit. If the latter, I cannot speak to that. Chris :doorag:

    Scala G4 Review

Rode about 100 miles today. With foam earplugs, had set the volume at about midrange and it was vey comfortable as well as audible. Still have not charged at all. I left the unit on the entire time out...while in the store, etc. Battery seems fine I will not charge it until it is completely dead...

Scala Rider G4 Review...not very impressed...

Interesting experiences. Thanks for sharing. I am not currently using a nav unit, but I will eventually use the zumo 665. As for my syncing experience, all went without any issues. I noticed what you are talking about with the purple, but I think it is a result of the LEDs blinking so...

My concern is privacy. I'm willing to help anyone, but cell phone numbers getting out can be disasterous. Who uses land lines anymore? :dontknow: Reluctantly, info added... Chris :doorag:

    Garmin 550 wiring?

You need to figure out the radio wires that are intended to output to the factory CB unit that would have ultimately routed to the factory headset. I intend to figure this out as well for my setup. Alternatively you could use a line level converter to tap into the speaker wires, but the external...

    Scala G4 Review

Since our pair of G4s arrived today, I figured I would start a review beginning with first impressions. 1) Packaging seemed adequate. One of the two boxes was slightly torn, but everything on the inside was well wrapped and protected. Contents included the mount, bluetooth module, 2 Velcro...

Didn't know you could create a spreadsheet like that...very cool. I am reluctant to put my phone number on there though. Is there something that could be set up that is more secure? Chris :doorag:

    Communication system????

It is a relay type of setup. Which ever G4 unit is connected to two other units cannot use the phone. I think the conferencing ability of these is limited with the Q2's...which is a limitation of those units. Chris :doorag:

    Communication system????

The G4 is supposed to be backwards compatible. 4 G4s are required for -way conference I believe though. I bought a pair of G4's and they will be delivered tomorrow. I will do a full review after a couple of thousand miles. Chris :doorag:

Suggestion to the Moderator About This Section

I think something like this would be very nice and clean from the user perspective...I cringe at the thought of what it would take to maintain and / or monitor it though. I see plenty of posts under the wrong sub as it is. :dontknow: Chris :doorag:

    RT's sold out?

The blue RT-S I ordered was delievered to the dealer this morning. They will have it ready to pick up tomorrow some time. Tomorrow will be exactly three weeks from when I ordered it. This unit came straight from BRP...not another dealer. Chris :doorag:
