• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

GS Noob. Long time rider... Howdy!

HI !! If you like the Spyder half as much as your V-Strom...... you'll be enjoying it. The 'strom was the ONLY motorcycle that made me grin from ear to ear each time I rode it. My Goldwing was "king", but the 'strom was the "court jester".

    two weeks till spyderquest!!!!!!

1st SpyderQuest. Can only make it for one day this time around. Have a snowmobile convention to work at for Fri - Sat. So it looks like a short visit. I'll definitely check out the vendor area. I've done Americade at Lake George quite a few times, and have spent a few thousand $$ on my...

    New to 3 wheels

I think that the 2 closest Spyder dealers....one in Rutland Vt., and the other in Concord N.H. Any other dealers in the Westmoreland - Keene area?? I hear that Freedom Cycles in Concord does a fantastic Laser alignment on Spyders. As an aside.... The Killington Classic motorcycle rally is...

    Dealer Hitch Install

That's a good price for EBay.....Probably Big Boy Parts for the hitch and ShowChrome for the wiring harness. It's a fairly easy job to do....I think that removing the Tupperware is the toughest part. The wiring is plain and simple. I ended the harness in a flat 5 connector. My trailer already...

    trailer hitch

Just put an aftermarket (Big Boy) hitch on my '14 RT. Piece of cake. Also put on the ShowChrome wiring harness.....it's a 5 wire. My trailer was a 6 pin plug, but by splicing he blue and brown wires (running lights) together, I was able to purchase a 5 wire flat plug for the trailer and the RT.

    Fun Factor

It's different, for sure, but for me, two wheels is more fun.

    Vendor Vampires

We're having our annual snowmobile convention this September, and I've got over 30 small "mom & pop" vendors lined up. I charge them a $25.00 fee to reserve their spot at the rally, and on the day they set up their wares, I refund their fee. This just keeps some vendors from being a "no show"...

    WELL I THINK I AM IN TROUBLE......AGAIN

Just tell her that the cooling vest works well when worn over a T shirt. It doesn't work well if there's a bra underneath the shirt. She may not want to ride bra-less. If she still wants the cooling vest, then get a set of Baker Air Wings for the upper part of the Spyder.

    Frustrating Service Experience

Sending an Email directly to BRP, or for that matter, Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat, Suzuki, etc. is like yelling in the forest. You need to find out who your area rep is for your brand, and email that person. It's quicker, more efficient, more likely to be read and replied to. I've found this out...

things I would like to see on RT

I'd like to see: Better, bigger screen (so I can actually read it while driving). Better headlights (LED's all the way would be nice). Eliminate the "delay" when starting up. Better access to the interior mechanics. A Clymer manual (it's difficult to take off the Tupperware...at least for...

Watch out for a**holes who aren't paying attention!

You eventually realize that "STUPID PEOPLE ARE EVERYWHERE"!!! You notice it the more you ride your motorcycle, and the day after Election Day. They're stupid, they breed, and they vote. Something needs to be done.

New guy here, looking for advice

You only have to protect those parts of your body that you want to use tonight. That's my philosophy. ATGATT is a good way to go. Start with a good helmet....(I stay away from the cheap Chinese made ones). You'll need a warm weather and a cold weather jacket. (I like Joe Rocket mesh...

    Frustrating Service Experience

I had my first 3,000 mile service done this week at the dealer. I also had him re-balance both front tires. Total time was 2 1/2 hours and cost was $240.00 . Still (for me) a bit pricey. Oil change materials are way, way overpriced. I can buy a gallon of Shell Rotella T6 for $21.00 and it's...

    vacation spot

For scenery, it's hard to beat Yellowstone, Sequoia Nat'l. Forest, Lassen Volcanic Nat'l. Park and Crater Lake. For riding, it's hard to beat the PCH from just north of San Fransisco all the way up to Oregon, and the Chief Joseph Highway going up towards Montana. I've done the Grand Canyon...

Question to former Harley Riders/back issues. Need advise on how it spyder vs Harley

One thing that helps me with my back is a good back brace. Mine is made of stretch fabric (with elastic) and 3 layers of adjustable Velcro. You can get a good one at your CVS or Walgreen's, or Rite Aid or whatever. For me, it makes a world of difference while riding.

    Rain Suit?

Nine years ago I purchased raingear from Cabela's. It's by far the best raingear I have owned. They roll up into their own drawstring bags (each bag is labeled "jacket" or "pants"), and they are compact and store easily. They are super tough and super dry. If I ever need another set.........I'll...

    cant decided

You're right, Bob. Now all I have to do is convince my wife. I've got her to admit, that she likes riding on 2 wheels better, but also likes that the Spyder eliminates potential problems when I'm tired and still out on the road. Something that I'll have to work on.

    cant decided

If you're buying a Spyder....get a new one. If you're trying to decide on buying a new 'Wing OR a Spyder...then take a long test drive on the Spyder to see if you really like it. I too, sold my Goldwing 1800 for a 2014 Spyder RT-S and still have mixed feelings. When I'm tired, have a passenger...
