• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Winterize

Like Bob D. says...add fuel stabilizer, fill fuel tank, up the tire pressure and plug in the battery tender. The reason for adding extra tire pressure, is to eliminate any "flat spots" in the tires, come springtime.

Interesting Perception of the Spyder in the MC Community

Motorcycles and Spyders.....They're different from each other, but are in the same general category (non 4 wheeled road vehicles). Airplanes and helicopters....They're different from each other, but are in the same general category (aircraft). No reason to look down on each other, just...

    Whatcha think??

Honda won't make a trike. Sometime in the late 70's or early 80's before the advent of the 4wheel ATV's , Honda mass marketed a three wheeled ATV. So many people got hurt/killed riding them, that Honda signed an agreement with our government not to make a 3 wheeled vehicle. Now with the...

    Rear Foot Rests

I think that Fred uses a piece of 2x4 (or at least he used to) to raise the foot rests. If that's something you would do, then perhaps you could ty-wrap the 2x4's and remove them when necessary.

Best of New England Roads, Places to Stay and See for the Motorcycling Community

I agree.....Ocean Drive IS absolutely gorgeous. It's just getting there that's tough. But I DO know R.I. Lived and worked there for 55 years....worked for Ma Bell....I know every road and street and cowpath.

Best of New England Roads, Places to Stay and See for the Motorcycling Community

I'm not too sure about Newport, R.I. The traffic in R.I. sucks just about anywhere in the state. I spent 55 years there and wouldn't care if I ever went back there. Bad roads, bad traffic, and bad drivers. I will vote for some of the Vermont roads, although some of them are a bit...

    Hitch carrier thoughts

Rivco has a great hitch/carrier and luggage combo. I hate hauling a trailer with a motorcycle, but haven't tried it on the Spyder. I used the Rivco setup on my Goldwing for years. Works wonderfully. Last year I took it on a trip from Vermont down to Hot Springs, Arkansas and out to Colorado for...

    Battery Tender?

If you always use a battery tender, you can extend your battery life far beyond it's normal (untended) life expectancy. I used one on my Goldwing faithfully, and my battery lasted a bit more than six years. With today's electronics and computerized systems on our machines, there is a constant...

    xm radio

I did mine just like Bob Denman's. I have an XM Stratus 7 that I got from XM (for being such a loyal customer). All my wife had to do was pay $7.95 shipping and handling. It came in just about the time I picked up my Spyder. It works just fine, and I don't even bother listening to the AM/FM...

    2014 CAN AM SPYDER

Probably not too many Spyders in or around Providence.......especially if they have to ride down 95 past the "big blue bug" a.k.a. Nibbles Woodaway.

I believe you just saved me a lot of "fussin around".

Your Riding impressions RT VS GL1800 Trike please

Spyder is less expensive to purchase than a Goldwing Trike. Goldwing is SUPER RELIABLE. Spyder is a noisy bike. Goldwing is quieter. Spyder gets better gas mileage than a Goldwing. Goldwing runs on regular gas. Spyder handles better than a Goldwing trike. It's just a matter of preference.

    2016's

Geez. I guess I missed it all......Didn't know Sturgis was going on,.....didn't read ANYTHING about a new F3, don't do facebook, don't watch much TV, and when I do, it's on the DVR so I zip thru the commercials. Once in a while, I do crawl out from under my rock to see if the sun's shining...

Trailer Hitch and Wiring Harness Install

I purchased an aftermarket trailer hitch and a ShowChrome wiring harness and will do the install myself. Is there anything specific that I need to do or watch out for while doing this? I've never worked on a Spyder or even taken the Tupperware off of mine, but I'm going to do this anyway. I...

    can-am survey

I got the survey yesterday in the email.....filled it out and sent it back. It seems that they want to know how you "feel" about your spyder before, during and after the purchase. The entire survey is subjective, and they don't even ask about your likes/dislikes concerning the owning or...

    Delay in starting procedure

The delay is a royal pain in the butt !!! However, it's not just my Spyder, but also in my 2014 Silverado. All the controls have some sort of a delay......whether it's the temperature knob, fan speed or radio....it seems that they all need "permission" from the onboard computer. Give me back my...

2015 RT vs 2014 RT Observation

Just came back from a GoldWing rally in Maine this weekend. There were several Spyders in attendance, and the local Can Am dealer had an Rt-S, Rt-S Special Edition and the F3 for demo rides. Several people mentioned the same thing. I have a '14, so I didn't bother to test ride. Seems that more...

    Eco mode or not?

I usually keep it in ECO mode, but don't pay too much attention to it. I don't look for the green upshift arrow, but if I do see it, it reminds me that I CAN upshift if I want to.
