• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    New (2012) Spyder owner

Kansas Winds I tell people the only thing worse than South Dakota winds (where I live) are Kansas winds (originally from KCK). My wife and I are newbies with about 1300 miles on our new 2017 RT and I'm stilling trying to figure what to do with the side winds. When wearing our helmets, there are...

    Tryker Trike?

2019 Spyders I recently saw a video from the Three Wheeler Rally in South Dakota this week with a BRP spokesman saying that "a new line of Spyders will be announced this September. With my wife and I considering getting a second Spyder so we can both ride, I'm hoping the new line will be the...

    Tryker Trike?

So this came across my YouTube feed the other day. A two-wheel in the front, less powerful and cheaper "Spyder". It doesn't look very safe and after riding a Spyder...I don't think I'd want anyone in my family to ride it. Anyone know anything about it?

    This is belt vibration, right?

Give it a little more time. I have a one month old 2017 RT and just about done putting a 1000 miles on it. I too had an odd vibration around the 70-75 MPH range with just over 150 miles on the odometer. Around that time, I had a loose lug nut that need to be tightened but I don't think that was...

My hay customer and I got scammed. Can anyone explain??

This is the hardest part of the scam and the tech part I can't figure out. Assuming her phone hadn't been hacked, the only way this could happen would be for the scammer to spoof a cell phone tower (very hard to do due to needing the right hardware) or depending on the text message app "listen"...

    2018 Dash Software Update

Dealer Required? I'm a 2017 owner that almost considered a 2018, so please excuse my ignorance as I don't know the 2018 Spyder well. Do you have to go to the dealer for software/firmware updates of the dash or do you have the option to update on your own (such as via a USB drive)?

Disappointing maiden voyage on new to us Spyder

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Keep us posted what your dealer/mechanic says. Inquiring minds want to know...

    Find us (SpyderLovers) on Facebook

I'm a content management nut, so I have a long history with hosting my own websites and forums on both websites and via social media. It's not an easy job and I understand your doubts to how much time to invest in this forum where services like Facebook can do half the job for you. However, I've...

    Fuel

Mike, I understand the difference between octane ratings and alcohol content. But as JFD mentioned in his post, IN PRACTICE for those of us that live in the corn states you'll almost NEVER find non-ethyl gas in the lower/mid grades as every pump is required by mandates to carry blended...

    Fuel

My reason for getting the Premium isn't the higher octane but that it is the best chance to contain pure gas. Here in the cornbelt most of our lower octane gas is blended with 10% ethanol. Is this a valid reasons to purchase Premium gas? As a side note, I have no problem putting gas blended...

    Looking for a cover

How do the half covers hold up in the wind? How do the half covers hold up in the wind? Do they "pull" on the windshield during heavy winds?

    Cervical fusion

Several years ago (still in my 40's) I dealt with a problem where the primary nerve for my left arm was being squeezed in my neck near C6/C7 causing pain and weakness in my left arm. The procedure I had was a microdiscetomy and foraminotomy which basically means the neurosurgeon enlarged the...

It was $24,900 for the 2017 RT SE6 Limited.

    New purchase input

I actually find at times the radio is too loud on my 2017 RT, but I suppose with earplugs you're not going to hear to hear it too well. I'm quite the opposite in viewpoint, I think music blaring via helmet speakers is more dangerous from a safety perspective given you're less likely to hear the...

    New purchase input

My wife and I just made a purchase last week. For driving, I think the F3 is a lot more fun than the RT. However, as a passenger I found the RT to be much more comfortable. Passengers on the F3 (at least the one we drove) sit higher than the driver and catch a lot more wind than they do on the...

    The kid can rock it!

I just want to see these kids to grow up to adults and give us some great music to listen to in our older years. Pretty hard to find "new music" and "great music" being the one and the same these days.

Lost Lug Nut in First Week

Thank you to everyone that responded. My plan is to get a lug nut from the dealer, put it on my bike, bring the bike in for inspection and have tighten what needs to be tightened. My sense of the local dealership is that they're good people but understaffed/overworked allowing mistakes to...

Lost Lug Nut in First Week

So, I have a brand new 2017 RT Limited...and within the first week I noticed a lug nut on the front wheel was missing. I assumed my local dealer would have made sure the lug nuts were properly torqued before I took it off the lot. How common is it for the lug nut to get loose on the front...
