• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Securing electrical connections after hand hold removal

Thanks for the comments. I went ahead and went the tape route. The reason I ask this question was because when connecting my GPS to the bikes electrical system I think BRP had a “dummy” male connector plugged into the female electrical plug. I figured this was common practice and the “dummy”...

Securing electrical connections after hand hold removal

I’m installing BRP armrests on my F3L and have to remove my hand holds which are heated. Under the pass seat is a factory electrical plug which I have to unplug. What is recommended I should do with the plug end that remains with the bike? Is it correct to assume I can purchase an end cap for...

    OEM armrest F3L

For anyone who has installed The BRP pass. arm rests how has it changed the passenger getting on and off the bike? Can the passenger get on and off with the driver on the bike or does the driver have to dismount every time the passenger wants off? Looks like a pretty tight squeeze with the...

Is the 'Rocking' Ride Characteristic correctable?

Thanks for all the helpful comments. I’m not sure how long the stock tires last but my plan is to replace the tires when needed with an upgraded brand and get an alignment at that time and see what happens. Thanks again. Poasttown

    Spyder riding course?

I took the course and found it to be very helpful in two ways. First, I was still in decision making mode about the CanAm and the course allowed me seat time to help in this process. Second, although all the riding was on a closed parking lot course we were able to put the bikes through both...

Is the 'Rocking' Ride Characteristic correctable?

In reference to woodaddicts comment about cornering, and I know this may sound strange, but it seems like the bike get a bit more solid in corners. Again, because this seems to be a relative common topic and there are a number of mods out there related to this issue I wonder if my bike is...

Is the 'Rocking' Ride Characteristic correctable?

JayBros The rocking is more pronounced on older roads with a crown in the center, freshly paved roads are better. I guess this would be expected. It also seems more pronounced at higher speeds. Yes there is a bit of wandering right to left , but again the newer the road the less wandering...

Is the 'Rocking' Ride Characteristic correctable?

First let me say that this post is in no way intended to be a “negative post” on the spyder. I purchased my 2019 F3L new about nine months ago and now have approximately 2400 miles on it. I am very happy with the bike and the transition from years on two wheels to three wheels didn’t seem very...

    Scheduled service

I was under the impression that the dealer plugged the bike into a computer and made updates and recorded maintenance history (for warranty purposes). Something special besides what is in the manual. I’m not exactly sure where I came up with this impression. Maybe they do the computer thing when...

    Scheduled service

I contacted the dealer where I purchased my 2019 F3L to schedule it’s 3000 mile maintenance check and the first appointment I could get is a little over two months out. I figured I will hit the 3000 mile mark in about four week maybe sooner and also plan a few trips this summer. This is why I...

A little info please - can the showchrome armrests be locked?

I think my passenger would also like a bit more “side by side” support. In her case I think the actual armrest is secondary to the feeling of security. The factory arm rest look as if they are pretty solid but if the Showchrome armrest can somewhat lock into position then they would be a...

    Hard wiring a GPS

AY4B On my Spyder the GPS connector is tied into the key switch. Also in my instruction for my Gamin 396 is specifically states the red wire is power. Base on others comments and yours I wanted to see it in writing to be sure. Good luck. Poasttown

    Hard wiring a GPS

Troop In a post by Rattlebars earlier in this thread he references his site. In this site he has a topic “GPS installation” or something similar where he highlites GPS connectors with ordering info. I think they come in a pack of six. I ordered mine from Value Accessories. Check under their...

    Hard wiring a GPS

Just wanted to complete the story. I found the gps plug on my 2019 F3L, ordered a Male plug to fit this plug, and then made all the connections. I tested it out today with a ride and and all seems to be working as it should. Thanks to all who contributed info. It was very helpful. Poasttown

    Hard wiring a GPS

Let me first thank everyone for their helpful reply’s. I have added electrical accessories to previous bikes but as I stated earlier the spyder seems to be in a higher level of electrical sophistication which raises my level of concern to not cause a problem. I found the gps accessory plug on...

    Hard wiring a GPS

I’m sure this topic has been discussed numerous times. I did a brief search and didn’t find what I was looking for. After reading my question and if someone remembers this topic on a previous thread please direct me to it. First I’m riding a 2019 F3L and really wanted to use BRP Connect with...

    Zumo 396

Evil twin I was operating it just from the battery which I’m guessing isn’t going to be enough power. I was hoping to just recharge the battery between rides when on trips. I suppose I’m going to splice the GPS power cord to a “charge only” USB connector and then attach to the USB connector in...

    Zumo 396

I have a question about brightness on the 396. I took mine out for its first ride today and as soon as I left the garage I could not see the screen. I could not get it to brighten even when I went to the brightness option and slid the scale to its highest level. The GPS did have a notation”...
