• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Front seat support piston failed again - I made a replacement rod!

Thank you John for a most generous offer. I fixed my seat by ordering a heavier duty shock from McMaster Carr. It works great even with the back rest and the heavier custom seat. No I don't remember the #, that was 5 years ago, and I didn't keep a record. Search the archives, that is where I...

Need to modify driver's seat on 2023 RTL - anyone made theirs comfortable?

No it did not because the instructions Dave included showed how to cut a pocket in the foam so you sit the same. He also included a razor knife.

Refusal to look at my 2015 RT-S by a Can Am Dealer!

Yes, I went thru this when a dealership I have used and trusted called to ask if I needed any service done for the coming riding year. I asked for a price quote on some work, and she asked for the year of my Spyder and when I told her, she answered that they didn't work on Spyders 10 years or...

Is Lamonster Windshield Cleaner still available? What else won't hurt the windshield?

Yamaha Spray Wax and Detailer. Great stuff; makes my Spyder and windshield shine. It does a great job of removing bugs and dirt and grime. I have been using it on my bikes for 30+ years and never had it cloud or scratch a windshield. My Spyder is 12 years old, has the original windshield, and it...

DID Make My Mind up! - Big D's Mighty Red Baron has Arrived!

Hi Derek. Welcome to the insanity. After an accident at 64, I was no longer sure of my balance or my situational awareness, but I was not ready to quit riding even after 50+ years. My friend was leaving riding and selling his trike at a really good price, so I bought it and rode it for 4 years...

Rear wheel removal - can't get the brake caliper off or remove axle - help??

I have found on my RTL that I can roll the wheel backwards while pulling outward on the belt and I can walk the belt off. WATCH YOUR FINGERS, DON'T GET THEM CAUGHT IN THE BELT. With the belt off you can then remove the axle. I also don't disturb the belt alignment or tension.

    Your Spyder Vendors/Sponsors

since the Advertising was a pay for space type if you want your space, you should pay the price. If you feel it isn't worth the price don't take up the space. If you don't want to pay the price you should expect your space to be taken down, seems pretty simple.

    Long signature blocks - request

I like mine the way it is too. I have been here since 2012 and this is the first time I remember any problems about signature size. I view on Android, tablet or laptop.

I think Sturgis started early this year.

The Harleys are rumbling up I15 from So Cal heading North, so I figure the Sturgis pilgrimage has started. I should be seeing lots of them this week, then in about 10 days see them heading back South.

What should I look for in a mesh jacket? Any Pros & Cons?

Look for one with a soft collar that won't chafe your neck. Also be sure the armour won't block the flow of air in places where you want it. Two thumbs up if it has a warm and waterproof liner. Mine is waist length but I found I prefer 3/4 length in a jacket. I have also found that I am cooler...

What do you think your Spyder looks like?

A little late to the party, but I have to agree with Albec and others, it looks just like a snowmobile on wheels. I thought the F3 from the front looked like the indy cars from the 50's and 60's.

Need to modify driver's seat on 2023 RTL - anyone made theirs comfortable?

Call motorcycledave.com at (209) 887-3283 and he will fix you up. He can either rebuild your seat for you; or sell you a gel pad you can install yourself. I chose the gel pad, put it in myself, and never looked back.

What have you done for Heated Gear Wiring, inc Location - '20+ RT's?

I have heated clothing from Warm and Safe. They say not to connect to any auxiliary circuits but only direct to the battery. They do make an extension cord for more remote battery locations. On my 2012 I am direct to the battery. I also use their bluetooth controller which shuts down when it...

Anyone tried "Speed Bleeders" brake bleeders?

The one-way valve that Ranger Rick mentions in his post is available from Motion Pro www.motionpro.com. By using this you can eliminate the need to put speed bleeders on all three calipers. I think it is only about 12-13 dollars.
