• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Need a New battery - what type: Lead Acid, AGM, Gel?

I picked up a small battery tester, have the basic analogue load tester as well. This one gives the health of the battery. It's inexpensive, but does a good job for the DIY garage mechanic. Cost approximately $60.00 CDN. It's a KZYEE KS21 Auto Battery Tester, 12V CCA Car Battery Load Tester...

    N-Line Trailer

Bought an N-Line Trailer for touring in 2019 for our trip to Dawson City return. Liked the single wheel aspect and that the trailer is the same width as the 1500, and because of this, trailer would fit wherever the 1500 did. It is approximately 80 pounds with a load capacity of 100. This is...

Heated OEM grips on F3 LTD do just barely - anyone replaced with A/mkt?

I purchased this set of heated hand grips for my 1200 Gold Wing. 5 heat settings, inexpensive and working well after 1 year. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08P5639GB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Who is a former Goldwing rider?

We like our 2014 RTL very much. Great in stop/go traffic, traffic seems to be increasing every year and no new infrastructure being putting in place. Still have my retirement Goldwing - '85 Limited Edition FI model. Like riding two wheels. Have owned an '08 1800 - sold a few years back and a...

    Suspension

Still digging into the suspension setup for the Spyder. It's an illusive animal, but I will get to the bottom of it so to speak, or a reasonable facsimile that will allow me to achieve the result(s) I am looking for. Looking into snowmobile suspension setups because a snowmobile is similar...

A few observations about my Spyder RT Ltd...

Another item that Sonya will not ride without is the SENA communicators. Have to be charged the night before. This gives her a better feeling when riding, she doesn't have to yell at me. I can communicate what I am doing, going through yellow lights, hard stopping, and such. The communicators...

A few observations about my Spyder RT Ltd...

Passenger arm rests, give additional feeling of security - cockpit style. First item I installed on my 2014 RT LE. Easy install.

    Suspension

PMK - thanks for the kind words and encouragement. Can say that I am not overthinking this issue for the Spyder, similar to my wanting to upgrade the suspension setup on my '85 Goldwing limited Edition. Rear shocks are easy, just about any manufacturer can accommodate my requirement(s) - have...

    Suspension

PMK - This is a very interesting topic depending on how far down the rabbit hole one wants to go. Found this article: http://www.formula1-dictionary.net/set_up_mechanical.html and it branches off into the various aspects of suspension setup. This article starts with "tires" and provides a lot...

    Suspension

Very interesting. Have some readings to take, and hopefully in the next month, life does get in the way, have a go at the setup. Putting new rings in my '85 Goldwing, these arrived today. Should have it buttoned up and in by end next week. Like to have at least one of these on the road...

    Suspension

Mikey - hope that is Costco Kirkland brand popcorn, better than Orville Redenbacher IMO. PMK - thanks for the info. Will do some reading on this. I had already decided on a plan of action based on the information in the OEM service manual. The ground clearance is to be 110 mm directly under...

    Suspension

Thanks for the reply. I'm leaning towards a proper front shock spring rate that will have the preload at 1 cm or less. If I can achieve this, I think the suspension issue with my Spyder will probably be closed. I have never expected the Spyder to be a formula racer, but I do expect it to be...

    Suspension

PMK - thanks for the comment, and couldn't agree more. Lots to consider. I was philosophizing regarding this issue. The two wheeled industry has the same issues, especially with motorcycles that do not fit any mold such as my '85 Goldwing Limited Edition. The suspension on this bike can be...

    Suspension

There has been a lot of chatter on various threads regarding suspension, especially the front suspension of the Spyder. This is a very expensive topic as the Can-AM family is a very small market, if it wasn't expensive everyone would dive in and go for a complete suspension upgrade. The...

Recommendations for Ryker Rally front shocks?

Mentioned here that these Can-Am models are for the road, why would you go off road, or cross country - because you want to. Good on you. I have had my Goldwing on logging roads, don't ask. A Goldwing does not make a good off road bike. Having mentioned this, your options as has been...

New Member In Search Of Info - which F3 Ltd's have rear Air Suspension?

Joined the Spyder fraternity in March this year, still have an '85 Goldwing Limited edition for two wheel enjoyment. Test rode a 2020 RT LE and a 2018 F3 Limited before I bought. Rode two up on both, Sonya preferred the RT LE over the F3 Limited, bought a 2014 RT LE, these are the Goldwings of...

    Need Springs for F3T Shocks

I'll chime in here with an opinion - an old fart so have lots. Minimum spring rate that aftermarket shocks are going with seems to be in the 250 lb/in spring rate ball park. Lots out there to chose from. Does your F3 have a preload adjuster? If so this will be a determining factor in the...
