• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Fender support I now have 40,000 on the Spyder so the welded support has held together. The right wheel hub was warped so that was replaced and no vibrations now. I thought the disc was warped but when they checked it they found the hub was the problem. :doorag:

    Front fender support The front right fender supports broke on my 08 GS with about 25,000 miles on Needles highway near Sturgis. Cracked right at the transition from bracket to round tube. Had a welder fix it with a steel pin placed in the tube and welded. $25 fix. :doorag:

    Sturgis Are you sure Harvey is up for the Sturgis experience? Camping at the Buffalo Chip and going to the concerts would be an additional experience for him. It is an experience he won't forget! I know the bike week is part of the experience but the riding is good also.

    Milage I know I averaged a slower speed in the Smokies because of the curves. This reduces the drag on the Spyder so better gas milage because less horsepower goes into overcoming the wind resistance.

    Ethanol Could be the difference of fuel with ethanol sold in the Midwest has less energy per gallon, so fuel without ethanol will give better gas milage.

    Speed The dyne tests charts showed the horsepower leveled off and then dropped above 9100 rpm, so the engine would not have enough horsepower to increase the speed above this. :doorag:
