• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Not new but kind of

I too had "aged out" of my 2002 BMW RT1150 in 2017. Bought a new 2018 F3 LTD, and have never looked back. I still have a V-Strom 650 that I still enjoy on occasion as I can still handle it's weight. Happy Trails to you!

    HowTo: Remote Garage Door Opener

On my F3, I use 3M Dual Lock (a "super" velcro type fastener) to fasten my remote. Somewhat easily removed when I get off and walk away from the Spyder.

Army Recruitment Ads - International Comparison

56 years ago today (1966), I raised my hand and pledged to serve for three in the US Army. With enlisting, I could select a MOS (Military Occupational Skill) I qualified for. I did achieve that. NO WAY was I going to roll the dice and get drafted.

Grill removal and clean up. Radiators clean.

I don't have any back side photos. I used black Gorilla Tape (a super sticky, and strong, type of "duct" tape) to secure the screen on the back of the grill in various places. You can see the black tape on the front side corners in the photos. These pieces cover up a cut in the screen to help...

Grill removal and clean up. Radiators clean.

The solution I found that works well for bug to radiator prevention on my F3, was to wrap black nylon window screen around the front of the grill securing it on the backside then remounting the grill. Annually, I remove the grill and clean the screen and wax/polish all the plastic behind the...

Would these Wheel Dollies work for an F3L?

    * I have a set of four of these dollies, though not HF brand. They are good for moving four wheeled vehicles is their limit. * Buy Rhino Ramps or equivalent to get your Spyder high enough to change oil etc.

    Made the switch to F3L

This video was made by a fellow member a few months ago. I think this is the F3 panel that you're asking about. Pretty simple and clever tool to make the job easy: https://www.dropbox.com/s/v7n8v1iuhfjjdnx/TopPanelToolUsage1080P.mp4?dl=0 Good luck!

Found a simple tool to help me in the rain

A nice find for any type of glove! Personally, I have three different pairs of HELD brand gloves, and all have the squeegee sewn in. Yes, the squeegees DO work to clear a face shield.

    Windshield pro's and con's

2018 F3L here: I replaced stock shield with Lamonster's 15". Then I added the adjustable MRA X-Creen Tour Spoiler Blade. This combo works very well for me. No added turbulence to speak of. I wear modular helmet and ear plugs so I can't comment on wind noise. I think your body...

Anyone tried "Speed Bleeders" brake bleeders?

Are you guys just putting the speed bleeders on the front and rear brakes, omitting the ABS unit?

Any Examples of the word "Spyder" written in script?

As a retired sign painter with decades of experience, here is my suggestion: If your sign PAINTER (NOT vinyl maker) has any skills at all with script, have him/her draw an example or two for you to see. Or, ask to look at their portfolio. Sign painters who pinstripe custom cars, motorcycles...

    pain in the a_ _

There is a phrase from the classic air-cooled VW repair-procedural manual, How To Keep Your Volkswagen Alive (aka VW Idiot Manual) written by John Muir, that goes like this: "Come to kindly terms with your ass for it bears you". In other words, get to know your machine so you are familiar...

    2018 F3L Radiators at 10,086 Miles

What I've done to help keep the radiators bug/crap free is to wrap the front of my F3 grill with black nylon window screen. With the grill removed, I cut a rough screen template and cut and fold the screen on the back side of the grill as I go. I use Gorilla tape where needed. I cut a small...

Getting ready to attempt belt alignment

What ButterSmooth says is accurate. My 2018 F3 Limited came from the factory with the belt to pulley flange measurement close to a 3mm gap. Last summer, when I reinstalled the rear wheel with new tire (Vredestine Quadrac 5 all around), I spent a LOT of time trying to get that suggested credit...
