• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Yes, we have a line of front shocks. We are working on the rear now. I've sent you a PM that you might take a look at.

Recommend any Rear shock replacements other than the $$$ Elka's??

I appreciate your input. Whenever you produce a product, you have to choose a direction. Just giving the reasons we went the way we did. There is no perfect anything. Everything is a tradeoff. We all do what we think is best. It's what makes the world go around.

Recommend any Rear shock replacements other than the $$$ Elka's??

Springs simply hold the machine up to the required ride height. Once this is done, additional spring rate can create a harsh ride. While this may improve handling, it does so with a downside. The other way to control unwanted suspension movement is with improved hydraulic valving inside the...

Difficulty shifting down to 2nd gear when at running temperature - any ideas/information appreciated?

The clutch is hydraulic and needs the same maintenance as your brake fluid. Check the reservoir and flush the system. I wouldn't be surprised if its been in there for 15 years. Also, those who put the fat foam grips on manual bikes reduce the throw on the clutch lever. That can keep the clutch...

No problem. You're paying the bill so you get to apply whatever philosophy you like.

Recommend any Rear shock replacements other than the $$$ Elka's??

Elka makes a rear shock without external reservoir. And that external reservoir brings dampening adjustment out to where you don't have to climb under the bike to make adjustment. So it is functional, and it will not reduce the reliability or longevity of the shock

Soft brake pedal on 2023 Ryker 600 with 1,000km - is this normal?

What happens when you pump the pedal. (Do it with your hand as that will give you better feedback). Does it pump up? And when you hold pressure, does it go down slowly? RVI. I'll have to remember that one!

Battery/Starting slow spin - is this common & why doesn't it start like a normal motorcycle?

Nor is it the digital beast our Spyders have become.

Time for brakes on my 2014 RT - any tips or recommendations?

Carbon fiber is just a fancy way of saying 'Organic'. Everything is a tradeoff. Organic is kinder to your rotors, at the expense of stopping power and quicker fade. I always ask customers. When you STOMP on your brake pedal because you REALLY want to stop, are you more concerned about how much...

2024 will Crank, but just won't start! More later...

Fuel pressure is easy to check. I'm not sure why they would throw so many expensive parts at it without doing more diagnostics.

2016 Spyder F3-T - is this a Battery showing signs of age/decay? Or is it not charging? If so, why?

Yuasa YTX24HL-BS. 350 CCA & 22.1 AH. If you have the money, a good Lithium battery is also a great option.

Battery/Starting slow spin - is this common & why doesn't it start like a normal motorcycle?

The battery we recommend is the Yuasa YTX24HL-BS with 22.1AH and 350 CCA. We like the BS version ("Bottle Supplied"). It's a bit more hassle to energize, but you know you're getting a brand new battery that way. A load test on a fully charged battery is the only way to know for sure what your...

Recommend any Rear shock replacements other than the $$$ Elka's??

I thought that kind of money was too much as well. Until we started to build our own shock series. It boils down to the hard fact that a good shock is going to cost you. Just no way around it. This is why most OEM shocks are just adequate, at best. Many aren't even that. Manufacturers shave a...

2016 Spyder F3-T - is this a Battery showing signs of age/decay? Or is it not charging? If so, why?

We have found that you can get by with a little less than 12v cranking. But 9.5v - 10.5v (voltage that will start most engines) and you'll be lucky to get it to fire. Anything less than 11.5v while cranking and you need to look for why. A multi meter is a very cheap and useful tool. Don't leave...

2016 Spyder F3-T - is this a Battery showing signs of age/decay? Or is it not charging? If so, why?

Sounds like you're battery is fine. Get a multimeter. Even a cheap one will do. Start the bike and connect to the + & - terminals on the battery and see what your charging voltage is. Should be around 14, give or take a few points. If it is, then your charging system is fine. We've seen very...

Anyone tried Rotating their front directional tires? Worth it?

At 38k, I'd say you've done quite well. I have to assume your question was generated by uneven tire wear. Either by out of balance or alignment issues. If you want the most joy, get your alignment checked and install a set of good quality car tires. I highly recommend the Vredestein Quatrac.

So what's the difference, apart from the name? (Coilover springs)

If you aren't satisfied with the final results of your current project. I suggest a set of later model take-off RT shocks. You'd be surprised at the improvement they can afford. And cost can be attractive as well.

Think of changing from a Freewheeler - is the Spyder any easier &/or safer?

I have a neighbor who is a classic, died in the wool, been riding them since I could walk, Harley man. He's asked me about my Spyders more than once. He converted to a Tri-Glide some years ago. Probably for the usual reasons. He says it rides like a truck, steers like a truck, shakes like a...

Soft brake pedal on 2023 Ryker 600 with 1,000km - is this normal?

The Ryker is a reliable machine. If you'd purchased a Tuk Tuk and it started doing the same thing. You'd be wishing you'd purchased a Ryker. If there is air in the lines (the most likely possibility). That's probably not going to be a warranty issue. Not that a good dealership wouldn't make...

Can You Tour on a Ryker?

You can tour on a unicycle, depending on your tolerance for adversity and expectations. Comparatively, a Ryker would be a piece of cake!
