• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So what's the difference, apart from the name? (Coilover springs)

Wow! I've got to believe you're going to end up with a very stiff and bouncy ride. I believe the OEM springs on an ST are 200 lbs. if that much. We learned that a little bit goes a long way on a Spyder. And I don't suppose you have any way to make adjustment. As CrazyCooter alludes. There is...

Anyone tried Rotating their front directional tires? Worth it?

If the alignment and balance are good, you shouldn't need to rotate front tires. If they aren't and the tires show noticeable wear patterns, it's probably too late to save them with a rotation anyway.

Baja Ron Ultimate Sway Bar Endlink falling off - anyone else experiencing this issue?

Anyone have ceramic brake pads? Any experience with Traild ceramic pads?

It is not necessary to bevel the leading edge or groove the pads. It's just an option for those who have experienced squealing. If you are replacing the rotors, I would not bother. It's not a good idea to lift with the shock as it can bend the bolt.

Has anyone removed/modified the Airbox on an F3 to improve intake airflow? Ideas?

If we all took that approach, we'd still be walking... There is always a better mouse trap out there. Finding it is the key.

A Canyon on steroids? Is this the sort of off-road Spyder BRP should have built?

Apples and Oranges. The Canyon is primarily built for on road with somewhat elevated off pavement (not off road) capabilities. This beast is 100% off road compatible. Pavement would surely give it fits.

What could cause this Squeal on starting out in first gear?

Amsoil now makes a 5W-40 MCF. But I still think 10W-40 is a better fit for the Spyder. We'd all like to hear you results, should you give this a try.

Do I assume the starter is dead or am I missing something?

The battery we use, Yausa YTX24HL-BS, has 350 CCA.

Is Ethanol Shield good for winter storage?

The best approach for storage, or even just for longer sits between runs, is as troop & Gwolf suggest. Straight, non-ethanol fuel and a full tank.

Do I assume the starter is dead or am I missing something?

The solenoid itself is not fused. I agree with djh3, not a high potential for failure. Just something else to check. Others had already listed the first, go to items. Voltage is one thing, current, or amperage is another. You can have good voltage but starters need both. If you don't have...

Do I assume the starter is dead or am I missing something?

    Check your Starter Solenoid Relay.

Has anyone removed/modified the Airbox on an F3 to improve intake airflow? Ideas?

Could be. But engineers are typically tasked with more than 1 parameter. For example, the emissions systems on current day cars not only increase fuel consumption, increase complexity, reduce dependability and life span, but add a significant cost to the machine as well as maintenance throughout...

Is this metallic knocking in reverse normal? 2011 RT

OK, knocking in my vernacular, is a continual or at least repetitive noise. For example, who knocks on a door only once each time they visit? If we are just talking about the clunk that occurs when moving to any gear, forward or reverse, from neutral. Then this is not only normal for the...

Is this metallic knocking in reverse normal? 2011 RT

Boy, that's a tough one. My gut reaction is no, not normal. But more information would be helpful. Can you post audio of the sound?

Has anyone removed/modified the Airbox on an F3 to improve intake airflow? Ideas?

While I know it would take a dyno to confirm this, I am not sure that an intake modification would not afford some worthy performance improvement. Especially if coupled with other upgrades like less restrictive exhaust and ECU flash. As you can see in Picture-1 below. The inlet path is not...

I need Help! 2022 Ryker with multiple codes & errors - what could be wrong?

I agree with Peter. You can't be sure the battery is good without a genuine load test. I might also look for rodents chewing on stuff as a possible cause.

F3T needing a Clutch replacement - any help appreciated

OH MY! I didn't reply to this one because I figured you'd have plenty of info from others. Sorry. First, your parts guy is a... Well, no, I won't say it. Look at the screenshot below. You have to get the full clutch kit, which is readily available. You can't purchase the components...

Is there a 'Full Tank' Triangle? If so, where? '22 RT

The early Spyders have a digital gauge with a triangle at the top when full. My 2008 GS has it. Not sure when this gauge format went away. I've had riders with the identical machine tell me theirs does not have the triangle. But, of course, they do. They've just never filled enough to get it...

Any thoughts on this VSS Error & Limp Home Mode? Possibly the battery??

Sounds like battery. The Spyder is very voltage sensitive. It also has a fair amount of parasitic draw. Not a good combination. I'd say you're on the right track.

Any thoughts on this VSS Error & Limp Home Mode? Possibly the battery??

Do a genuine load test on the battery, being first sure it is fully charged. That's the first place I'd look. A low voltage upon startup can give the computer a stroke. It gets disoriented and can hallucinate all kinds of nonexistent issues. Fortunately, these are temporary and with correct...
