• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Needed Belt tensioner Spring

Sorry can't help with a replacement, but are you aware that there was a new version of the spring come out just before Doc finished. If you are looking, better to look for one of those. Would Doc be willing to tell you where he obtained them. Worth a try.

    Front wheel bearings.

Here in the UK all vehicles have to be safety tested every year. When I took my RT in last week, they failed it on the front wheel bearings. I asked if there was any chance it was the ball joints and they said no, definitely the bearings. I have not had the chance to take a look myself. I was...

    Front wheel bearings.

Thanks to all who replied. I have found a drawing of the wheel bearing sectioned and I now understand the layout and what I need to do. It is a type of bearing I have not seen before, a sort of compound construction. Would anyone know the torque is needed on the axle nut ? Thanks again, Alan.

    Front wheel bearings.

I think that there is too much play in the front wheel bearings of my 2016 RTL. In the parts manual it gives one part number for what it calls a cone bearing. To me it seems to be sleeve which must contain two bearings and two grease seals. Has anyone had the front hub apart or knows if I have...

    Windscreen arm.

Thanks for all the advice. I was right in my assumption that the the brass bushes have to come out of the two top arms. On the lower arm the brass pieces look quite short with a steel centre pivot, is that correct. Sorry I am not able to post any pictures.

    Windscreen arm.

Waiting for delivery of a NoBoot windscreen arm so decided to strip the parts ready for the big day. The "v" shaped plate that the screen fixes to wont come off . I have removed the 6 screws that attach it to the 3 alloy arms but it wont move at all. It looks as if the brass inserts go all the...

Nankang XR611 Rear 225/50R15 - fitted to RTL

I also have the Nankang XR611 on my RT Ltd here in the UK, and found great grip in wet and dry conditions. I also have Nankangs on the front. I have recently fitted a new XR611 on the rear to replace the worn out XR611 that had done only just under 10,000 British miles (are they still different...

    L/H cargo box.

Thanks to all for replies. I think I will go in from under the seat to see how much of the bulge I can remove, without having to move any wires. If it looks worth while I will cut out what I can, and then make a shaped plastic or alloy blanking plate.

    L/H cargo box.

On my 2016 Rt. inside the left side cargo box is a moulded intrusion that takes up a lot of space. I believe that on earlier models the battery was fitted behind it. Has anyone cut this part out and refitted it turned around to give back the full box volume. I realise that this will not be easy...

Oil change - want just the O rings - any kits?

I have a 2016 RT here in the UK. I want to change the oil brand I am using to Castrol fully synthetic. The problem I have found is that I cannot obtain the "O" ring sets on their own. I have priced them individually, and it comes to more than the BRP oil change kit. So other than buying the BRP...

    Air bag again.

Yes. Yes to JayBros and yes to 2Dogs. Rang the dealer today and they said bring it in tomorrow and start the claim. They don't know when they will be able to get around to it but it will be in the right place. Thanks for the advice.

    Air bag again.

2016 RTltd, Set the rear air bag pressure to about half way on the bar graph when I got the bike new, and never altered it since. Tried to increase the pressure to take a passenger yesterday and the bar graph does not appear on the dash and no reading on a tyre gauge on the valve under the seat...

    Hows your rear fender

Rear fender. I had the same issue on my 2016RT. I took the bike in for a wheel alignment check and mentioned it to the mechanic. He raised the seat and slackened 4 bolts which he said held the whole back end on. After aligning the fender with the tyre he tightened the 4 bolts, took about 10...

    RT MOT

Me too. My RT is only18 months old ,but since I found out that it would have to go to a car test centre for it's MOT I have wondered about this potential problem. Luckily my nearest MOT centre does bikes and cars and the owner is a keen biker and friend. I was wondering if you were to remove...

    Rear wheel alignment.

I have a 2016 RT Ltd to which I have just fitted a new rear tyre. I have since ridden it about 200m and the belt tracking is within limits, less than 2mm from the flange. What I have noticed is that the bottom of the rear mudguard which comes to a sort of point is not in line with the centre of...
