• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Are there any other smart phones other than an Iphone that the RT talks to?

I got pulled over one time in Savannah for playing my tunes too loud so beware of cops with nothing better to do than recite the local noise ordinance!

    Hey everyone I'm baaa-aaack

You're a fine one to talk Bob. Upstate NY is what we call the snow belt. Yowser.

    Hey everyone I'm baaa-aaack

Always loved snowmobiling. Figure I'll just get a snowmobile suit and do some road snowmobiling. Maybe put a set of chains on the rear tire! :roflblack:

    Hey everyone I'm baaa-aaack

Why am I not surprised that Bob was the first to reply. You know the more things change the more they stay the same. Thanks Bob.

    Hey everyone I'm baaa-aaack

Been out of commission for a while. Not sure how many of the oldtimers are still around but I figured I'd check in and say hey. I've left year round Spyder ryding in Florida and I'm back in New England at least for now. Long story and yes there's a woman involved. I loved Florida but she didn't...

Thumbs down on Falkon rear tire

Thanks Lamont and I agree. If the tire doesn't grab wet pavement well it's useless. That's actually why I started this thread. To tell people the Falkon is just flat out dangerous. Bottom line is always safety. Be safe out there guys.

    2013 BajaRon Sway Bar Owners!

If anyone is on the fence regarding Ron's sway bar let me tell you it's the best $200 I ever spent. You know when you're passing a semi on the highway and the bike jumps around on you? Well with Ron's sway bar on my 2011 RT there is no more of that. I'll notice I'm getting blown around but...

Thumbs down on Falkon rear tire

Ok I had 28,000 miles on my 2011 RT and needed my fourth rear tire so I decided to try the Falkon. I'm currently at 39,000 and although the Falkon still has some tread left on it probably good for another 5,000 miles the traction just isn't there. Wet pavement is a nightmare. I mean I like to...

    Evap cannister

What I didn't mention in my first post is that the canister needed to be replaced because of a defective purge valve.I paid 74 for the canister, 50 for the purge valve and 20 for new spark plugs. But the 2.5 hours of labor was the killer. Not trying to nickel dime anyone but they charged me an...

    Evap cannister

They charged 125 for the part and 2.5 hours of labor. I'm not sure it's reasonable and customary to charge for diagnostic work that was a good chunk of the labor. I ask this of everyone. Would your dealer charge you for diagnosing the problem?

    Evap cannister

You guys are awesome. Thanks. But my tools are in Maine and I'm in Florida. Even with my tools though I doubt I'm clever enough to install the T.

    Evap cannister

Ok people let's share your wisdom. My check engine light came on and after a couple of tries my dealer finally figured it out. My evaporation canister weighed too much which I guess meant it needed to replaced. Some of you probably know by now that I am not a mechanic. I don't even pretend...

The latest survey from BRP was pretty interesting

Ditto that Flanker. I threw it out too. Call me suspicious but I would never respond to a survey from a third party. This particular one had scam written all over it.

    2014 RT

Lamont, please help me understand the new ECO mode. You said correct it does remap the engine but then you said there was no fuel economy difference in the two bikes in the side by test. Can you please clarify this for me? Exactly what is this ECO mode?

    Look Ma, no colors!

That's exactly what is making me so crazy Bob. That BRP is trying to squeeze everyone into buying the RT-S or the Limited by only offering black and white for the basic RTs. It's pretty hard to respect a business model that would do that.

    2014 RT

Not mine man. I love my 2011 RT and will ride it until it just won't go anymore. And then I'll bury in back of the house and build a shrine over it.

Stock back tire was so bad.

Yeah the OEM rear tire is only a 2 ply so at highway speeds it lacks the sidewall strength to keep it from ballooning out in the middle. And that's what causes the wear to be in the middle. A 4 ply tire will give you the durability you want.

Stock back tire was so bad.

I hear ya man. I also bought a Falkon after 3 OEM rear tires (yes, I'm a slow learner). Only got about 9,000 miles on each of the lame OEM rear tires. Have close to 10,000 miles on the Falkon and it looks like new!

    Look Ma, no colors!

Who cares? I do. A factory paint job is far superior to a body shop's and beyond that is the cost. I've also seen quotes upwards of $5000 to change color. Why would I want to pay that kind of money for an inferior product? When I buy something new I want it in the right color without...
