• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Driver Floorboards for a 2012 RT SE5

I also have a 2012 RT SE5...and wanted floor boards to replace the very uncomfortable foot pegs. I got a pair of floor boards from canamspyderaccessories.com in Canada. They offer two sizes, and I went with the small ones. Took under 10 minutes to install them.. Now my feet are resting in a...

How to Repair Seat Seam Stitching?

Thanks Everyone! Problem Solved! Thanks for the great ideas on how to repair the seam stitching on my seat. I ended up going to Hobby Lobby, and buying two pieces of leather that matched the color and texture of my seat. I cut them to shape, and glued them in place with Gorilla Glue. It...

How to Repair Seat Seam Stitching?

My Spyder spends its life outside...no inside space/garage available...so I'll want to get this done before winter. Without a covered, enclosed space to work in, I can't really do any winter projects on the bike. But on the plus side, I can ride until temps fall to freezing and below.

How to Repair Seat Seam Stitching?

Great idea! My fingers aren't very nimble but I can probably manage the sewing. I'll check at Hobby Lobby to see if they have the curved needles and waxed thread. THANKS

How to Repair Seat Seam Stitching?

The driver's seat on my RT-SE5 has an issue. The seam stitching has come apart in some areas, creating gaps where the pieces used to butt tightly together. I don't have the skill to restitch the seams, so what do I do? I've considered gluing a piece of black leather over the area where the...

    Ever Flip Over When Cornering?

He Gave Up Control? It looked like the driver either gave up control, swerving all over the place, or maybe had a mechanical issue with this steering. I NEVER want to experience that!

    Ever Flip Over When Cornering?

THANK YOU ALL! Thanks very much for the advice and shared experiences. Its much appreciated. I'll still take corners a bit slower until my confidence rises enough to power through them. :-) I usually slow a bit, then speed up about 1/2 way through the corner, and blast out of it. No...

    Ever Flip Over When Cornering?

I ride a 2012 RTSE5 with recommended tire pressure. I'm curious if anyone has flipped a Spyder while cornering. I always slow down, and don't take the corners as fast as my 2 wheel buds. I've never felt the wheels leave the ground, but its surely possible if the speed is too high, and I don't...

Hot Right Foot! Muffler/exhaust heat unbearable!

Surely you jest! LOL I'm not wearing insulated calf-high waterproof motorcycle boots when the temp is in the mid 90's. I'll find a way to deal with the heat coming from the exhaust system. I don't use the pick up unless I have to haul something. Its almost never TOO hot to ride... :-)

Hot Right Foot! Muffler/exhaust heat unbearable!

The heat I'm getting is coming striaght up from the exhaust system, directly below my right foot. I have the black screen thing in the front behind the radiator...no excess heat from there.

Hot Right Foot! Muffler/exhaust heat unbearable!

I went to Spyderpops site, and looked at the heat shield. I'll look again for one that says "heat block off plate". The one I saw looked like an aluminum wrap that attached to the bottom of the exhaust system. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hot Right Foot! Muffler/exhaust heat unbearable!

That sounds like it would work. I'll have to get under the bike and check out the cat pipe. Everything under there is factory stock, and I don't want to chance failing my state inspection by messing with the cat or the muffler. But I'll certain;y look into it. Thanks!

Hot Right Foot! Muffler/exhaust heat unbearable!

Got that... he heat is coming from under my right foot where the exhaust/muffler is located. I've already got the screen/shield for the engine compartment (as you showed). Thanks for the suggestion! T

Hot Right Foot! Muffler/exhaust heat unbearable!

worried about over heating... I looked at the write up for this product...and my only concern is possible over heating. The heat had to go somewhere, and this wrap seems to negate that. But thanks for the suggestion!

Hot Right Foot! Muffler/exhaust heat unbearable!

2012 RT-SE5...runs great, no problems...but the heat from the exhaust/muffler is roasting my right foot and ankle! The weather is too hot for boots and levis. How can I decrease or divert the amount of heat coming from the exhaust/muffler? Is there some kind of heat shield I can put in place...

Stone Protection and Faded Black Plastic

Thanks, All! I found a Maguiers product that does the job on the faded black. We get some intense sun light here in NC, so I'll watch to see if it fades. Sp far, its looking good. I used a spray of textured paint (stone chip type) from Rustoleum on the nose area. Its a rubberized sort of...

Stone Protection and Faded Black Plastic

Its a Plastic Stick On...like a Decal After taking a very close look at the "nose guard" with the faded stone chip paint, I discovered that its actually part of a plastic stick on, like a decal. I can see the edges...it runs across the nose (and under) and runs up about a foot above the nose...

Stone Protection and Faded Black Plastic

The nose of my 2012 RT has a layer of back "stone chip protection" paint on it, but its half gone. What can I use to refreshen it? Also much of the black plastic on my Spyder has faded to grey. Is there a product that will bring it back to deep black? Tried Armour All...didn't work.
