• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Amtrak Won't Accept Spyders on Auto-Train!

I'm going to look into that. Plus, I have a few friends with huge Harley baggers, and one of them might have a trailer I could borrow. I'd rather trailer the Spyder up because I'd be in my pick-up, and not as worried about the "crazies" out there! Thanks for the suggestion!

Amtrak Won't Accept Spyders on Auto-Train!

You're right...and even if it did go further north, they won't carry a Can Am.

Amtrak Won't Accept Spyders on Auto-Train!

I want to visit friends and family in NH next summer, and drop in to Laconia for Bike Week. My dilemma is this: I'm in NC, and I don't want to ride my Spyder RT for 12 hours just to get to NH...especially up the Jersey Pike, over the GW Bridge, and through Hartford. Too much traffic, and too...

    Which Battery Tender?

Thanks! Going with Battery Tender Jr. and Adapter Thanks very much for the thoughts, opinions, and information! My RT manual says that the cig. outlet in the rear hatch is always "live", so I'm going with a Battery Tender Jr. and their cigar. lighter adapter. Now I can keep the battery...

    Which Battery Tender?

Battery Tender Feed Through Cigarette Lighter? I need a battery tender for my RT, and am wondering if there's one that will "feed" the battery through the cigarette lighter port instead of having to be clamped directly to the battery? If I could do this, I could keep the tender out of the...

    The Outer Banks and Beyond

Nope, No Kids on This Trip Not even one child...LOL Most of us guys are in our 60's, except the guy riding the little 250cc rice rocket. He was in his 30's. We were a grey brigade for sure. ;)

    The Outer Banks and Beyond

Blue Ridge Parkway Next Summer! That sounds like an awesome ride, too! I'm thinking about riding to Cherokee next summer, and then back up the Blue Ridge Parkway. I've driven it in a car, but not on a Spyder, and it would be one of those "forever" memories. ;) My Spyder had just come out of...

Will Take Pics Next Time You're absolutely right...we should have taken pics. My cell phone camera is "iffy" at best, but someone in our group must have had a better camera. I'll be sure to get someone to take pics next time.

To cover or not to cover...

No Dealer Close By My closest dealer is 50+ miles away, and would probably charge me an arm and a leg to store my Spyder. Also, because our North Carolina winters can be mild, I'd like to have the trike nearby so I can ride it on ice/snow free days. I can deal with the cold. I might look...

To cover or not to cover...

Moth Balls Okay? Mike, I have no indoor storage, so the Spyder will be outside all winter. I have a great cover from my old Corvette which will easily fit over the entire trike, and its breathable. My question is about the moth balls. I have mice, cats, squirrels, etc. that would love to...

    The Outer Banks and Beyond

This past Saturday, a group of us from church gathered after a Men's Breakfast, and met up with a bunch of other guys for a ride to the Outer Banks and beyond. We had 10 motorcycles in all, with mine being the only Spyder. The rest were Harley's, except for one little 250cc rice rocket. This...

Primary Chain on Spyder RT SE5?

Thanks! My "research" came up with the same conclusion...no primary chain...gears and sprokets instead. I'll find out when the dealer's service tech gives me the results of his examination.

Primary Chain on Spyder RT SE5?

Good Idea If... That would be a good idea if I had any concept of what I'm supposed to be looking for...LOL Doesn't matter now because I dropped the trike off at the Can Am dealer this morning. After a very short test ride, the service tech said it was "probably" a sprocket failure, and...

Primary Chain on Spyder RT SE5?

Is there a "primary chain" on the Spyder RT SE5? I know most "conventional" bikes have a primary chain, and I'm thinking that the noise from the front of my Spyder might be coming from a loose primary chain. On a lot of bikes, there's a cover to be removed, then adjustments can be made to...

    Clanking Sound Up Front

Hope I Don't Need Parts! I'm hoping that I don't need parts...either the sprocket or the shaft. I'll have the service guys check it out while changing the oil and filters. Maybe some tightening will do the trick. Thanks!

    Clanking Sound Up Front

Hopefully Only Loose Other than this specific noise, the trike runs great...shifts up and down no problem. I'll have the dealer's service guys take a look at the shaft, Maybe (hopefully) just some tightening will resolve it. :-)

    Clanking Sound Up Front

I know this topic has been discussed before, and I've read the entries and replies, but I have a couple of questions still. 2012 RT SE5...a clanking sound (up front) when I roll back the throttle. The trike runs great, and shifts smoothly and without a hiccup. But when I'm coming to a stop, I...

Dealer Charges for Brake Pad Replacment?

Good Info! I'm pretty confident in the guy who told me the pads need to be replaced. And since I'm planning on some long touring trips next spring and summer, its a good idea to get them changed out now. I've contacted Bajaron, and gotten the info on the ECB pads for my model and year. If...

Dealer Charges for Brake Pad Replacment?

...And Sandwichs... Beer would be a good start on payment for the "lessons", but I'd need to add a couple of foot long subs into the deal! :-)

Dealer Charges for Brake Pad Replacment?

Lots of Mileage The Spyder has over 50,000 miles, and I was told by a professional bike inspector (before I bought it) that the pads were at about 10%, and would need to be replaced. I've felt the rotors, and they feel fine...no dimples, no ridges, no rough edges. I think all I need is the...
