• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BUDS New User - cleared codes I'd never seen occur?!

Cool. Will be interested in how that works out.

BUDS New User - cleared codes I'd never seen occur?!

Any chance that either the ECM or the Cluster has been replaced over the years? That screen isn't addressed in the manual. If it was a serious problem, you would get this screen instead, (see pic), and the engine would not run. But to double check, ensure you use BUDS and not BUDS2 on your 2013...

BUDS New User - cleared codes I'd never seen occur?!

Rick. Software updates are embedded in BUDS, and BUDS2 for that matter. The latest version of BUDS is version E3.8.2.1, last updated in 9/23/2016. (Menu Bar-Help-About BUDS) So, when you downloaded that, it contained the update for your 2013. Same stuff the dealers get, different delivery...

Oil leak from Torx screw on the L/H side of the engine - any ideas what/what size?

First of all, Steve; left hand and right-hand sides of ANY vehicle will always be referenced from the aspect of the driver when they are in/on the vehicle. The transmission filter on the 1330 is on the RIGHT hand side of the engine. So, which side of the engine are we really on? Just in case...

998cc Any direction/ideas on replacing the knock sensor?

Actually Maisy, on your engine there are two knock sensors. Just by the way you phrased your question, you don’t seem to be aware of that. So, what’s going on and why do you think you have a knock sensor problem at all? They’re pretty bullet proof.

Anyone else got Poor brakes on their Spyder? Any fixes?

New Spyder. New pads. New rotors. Did you bed them in yet? My brakes will lift me off the seat hardly trying.

Is this LH Multifunction handlebar cluster button connected? Will anything else fit?

Turn on the radio and push on the soft pads. What happens?

2022 Ryker Rally - Rattle in Drive Shaft/Under Seat at Low RPM/Speed - any ideas?

Hey Jason. I know nothing about Rykers. But what is disturbing to me is the dealership. If I've read this correctly, they didn't disclose to you that the machine was used as a trainer until AFTER you had a problem. And they were REALLY anxious to come get it and look at it, until they couldn't...

Are High Idle revs at start up normal?

Hey 5speed. I agree with Allen on this. BRP has made some changes to the programming since the beginning of the 1330. Just the other morning, after a particularly nippy night, my 1330 took at least 5 minutes to reach 1000RPM, also. The key is that if it operates normally once the engine and oil...

Same place. Under front, service cover below the headlights, right hand side..

Anyone got Part Numbers for Replacement Gold Plugs on '22 or newer RT?

Hey Brent. Well, just in case you wanted to stick with the gold plug, the engine plug is the MP18. Their year, make, model search is a little screwy. If you go back to 2020 or so, Can Am shows up and the correct plugs show up. MP01 is the correct clutch cover plug. Exactly the same plugs as your...

Turn signal button takes a hard push and Hold! Any suggestions?

Here's the thing I'll disagree with about what your dealer told you. The Left Hand Multi-function Switch was re-designed with a new one for Model Year 2022. The new part number is applicable for the 2020 and 2021 RT, also. Your old part number has been superseded. So, you will NOT get a switch...

Turn signal button takes a hard push and Hold! Any suggestions?

Hi Nerds. So, to make sure I understand correctly, you are trying to turn on the Left Turn Signal. The switch itself slides over to the left just fine. But, when it is all the way over, you still have to keep pushing very hard for awhile before the turn signal actually comes on? Has it been this...

Is it OK to adjust belt with rear wheel off the ground, in gear, & running?

Hey David. Yes, it may set off warning lights, but after you put all 3 wheels back on the ground and start riding, they will clear themselves.

998cc 2015 RSS Engine light on - How do I clear it, & show Codes on the dash?

O2 Sensor? Ride it for a few miles. Allow time for the ECM to re-adjust to having a good sensor again. It may also take a couple of operating cycles for the light to clear.

1330cc 2015 RT SM6 Burning Oil - what are the possible causes?

Try looking at this. They call this the blow-by connector. There's a vent tube attached to it. You can remove the vent tube and check things out. There's that o-ring shown, and also what they call a v-ring that requires valve cover removal to inspect. Not a simple job. The question though, would...

2012 RT not up-shifting correctly & downshifting at higher revs - any ideas? Fixes?

Byron, I didn't fix it. It would work well enough to return the paddles to neutral. But, it was very easy to accidentally downshift if I put my hand in the wrong place. Start up BUDS on you computer without plugging in the MPI. It will prompt you if you want to open a file. The default file...

2012 RT not up-shifting correctly & downshifting at higher revs - any ideas? Fixes?

Hey Byron. Checked oil level lately? Typical issue when having up shifting issues. The switch only has an up shift and a downshift contact. First and reverse are working. Sounds ok. But find the correct page in BUDS and do the switch test. Downshifting by itself? Well, after about 10 years, the...

1330cc 2015 RT SM6 Burning Oil - what are the possible causes?

Hey AJ. I’ve got a problem. I try to connect dots. It’s a birth defect. So, you said that everything was perfect with this motor. Then the previous owner touched it and did an oil change. Then, Boom, suddenly it is burning oil like crazy. Just because he noticed it at lunch doesn’t mean that’s...

2009 GS SM5, running roughly after oil change - any ideas?

Searched the forum for your P0520 code. There was a cluster of reports of oil pressure switch failure from that 08 and 09 era Spyder. It’s just a switch, not a sensor, per se. The new switch you have on order should solve your code problem. The vacuum lines referenced are on the left side of the...
