• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2023 RT - What do you guys get for miles between Brake Pad Replacements?

Only about 13-14k miles. My 2023 RT-L had the first set at 13k miles and I am feeling a warped right front rotor now at 28k miles. Today I shall pull the front tires to look at how much pad is left. I am pretty easy on the brakes so it does not make sense why the short life span of the pads...

When, if ever, was a belt dampener factory-installed on the F3's?

My former 2020 F3-L did not have a belt dampener on it. My current 2023 RT-L had one and the bearing wore out by 15,000 miles! I took it off and feel zero difference in vibration. For me, I won't have a dampener that could leave me stranded that also is of no assistance in dampening vibrations.

1330cc Can I change the Transmission Filter without dumping the oil?

BUDS is not required nor needed for HCM filter replacement. I have done it and it is not a hard job to do.

What are your thoughts on Magic Mirrors or Magnetic Mirror mounts for a 2016 RT Limited?

Several weekends ago I traveled to a friends house to show him how to do an oil change on his 2016 RTl. I also was concerned about the mirrors. I was pleasantly surprised he had magnetic mirror magnets on. I was nicely pleased how easily they came off and reinstalled with the magnets. I rode...

Your Weather News @ August 2025 Edition

Welcome to Monday morning weather news from North Alabama. Ditto Little Blue's report, just add a few degrees. No rain expected this week and don't expect to hit 90 degrees either. Lows in the upper '50's and highs in the mid '80's. Ryde time for sure!

    Random thought for the day

. This reminds me of a time around 25 years ago, when I was in a college library, studying. I overheard a young couple discussing a problem they were having. The couple were not able to locate how many Honda Civics were sold during a specific year in the 1970's. Search engines weren't quite as...

87 Octane seems to work just fine

Something I do notice when I run 93 octane is this: The 1330 engine in my RT shifts nicer! I don't quite understand why but it is enough for me to continue to run high octane fuel. I check my milage with every fill up (actual milage/gallons used) and there is zero difference between any...

Do Tinted Helmet Visors diminish your ability to see out in the dark/night?

I purchased a "tinted" visor for my Shoei helmet around two months ago. It acts more like sunglasses to me. I do not like using it during night riding which is not that frequent. I like riding with my visor up with sunglasses on, but also I like the wind in the face. Just my 2¢

Getting close to decision time. I need some input from those who have ridden an F3-L and RTL?

I have owned both the F3 Limited, a 2020, & currently 2023 RT limited. I ryde 99% of the time 1 up. I liked the F3 sitting better than my RT, but also I am a foot shorter than you, so keep that in mind. On a Spyder "short reach bars" are an oxymoron in name. Short reach bars are for the...

    Random thought for the day

This reminds of a trip many years ago. Myself, along with friends, went to do a rafting trip down the New River, I believe in West Virginia. One gal, not from our group, had strong fragrance about her. All the flying bugs were attracted to her and she just swatted at them all day. She did not...

Looking to install Cameras - where can I find a wire that comes on with the key on?

When you are checking for the wire under the seat, it may not be hot unless the engine is running, not just the key turned on. The 2020 F3L I had did not energize that wire until it was running. This is a great reason to get a shop type manual for your Spyder.

New Ride: 2024 RT Limited Hyper Silver

Be sure to read the manual completely from the front cover to the back cover. Multiple times also. Make sure you understand how to check the oil levels in these wet clutch engines. It is nothing like any other engines I have ever owned. Ryde the Spyder for about 10 miles then idle for additional...

Info that might help when replacing front sprocket!

Check the "belt tensioner" bearing. You don't want any motion on the roller other than rotating. No side to side motion etc. My 2023 tensioner started making noise around 15k miles so I took it off. I can feel zero difference with or without the tensioner on the spyder.

My '21 F3 Ltd is Pulling to the Right - any ideas on what to check next?

Double check your tire pressure. Use a good gauge like a digital or dial gauge (no push out the top type that is pencil shaped) and keep the tires within 1/2 pound pressure side to side. Do this with COLD tires that haven't been driven (like first thing in the morning) or several hours after...

Are the rear wheels for 2015 RT's and 2023 RT's Identical?

I don't know, but something one can do is check the part number on both wheels and see if they match. Using: https://www.partshark.com might help, or anyone else selling Can Am parts.

Just bought my first Spyder! Considering buying a warranty as it sat for 4 years - your thoughts?

Be sure to read the manual completely from the front cover to the back cover. Multiple times also. Make sure you understand how to check the oil levels in these wet clutch engines. It is nothing like most other engines I have ever owned. Ryde the Spyder for about 10 miles then idle for...

It looks like the FOBO TPMS site has gone belly up! Just letting you know...

About once a week it will do the same to me. When this happens to me I will try it again a couple of hours later then I can read my tire pressure. This has been going on for the past 6 months or so. I have been using FOBO for the past four years. I am grateful my tires only need air...

2016 Spyder F3-T - is this a Battery showing signs of age/decay? Or is it not charging? If so, why?

Ditto @johnv50. I have had the Noco NLP20 for 14 months on my 2023 RTL and love it. I ryde enough not to need to use a maintainer, but have it laying on the shop floor should the need arise. The engine spins over so much nicer with the extra cranking power than the stock battery which came from...
