• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Did anyone else notice? Re: Front sprocket

Nope, Nope and Nope. Your dealer is not being truthful with you. 1, they DO NOT have the keep possession of your bike, they have to tell you its not safe to ride. You can store your own bike. 2. If your sprocket fails inspection, they can request a replacement sprocket (of the current part)...

2015 RTS Rear wheel/tire replacement - does it HAVE to go to a dealer?

There is no need to remove the brake rotor or the hub (if its removable on your wheel) unless you are replacing the bearings. Not needed or recommended to remove them for tire replacement. And yes, I can see in the photos you have the newer style one piece wheel. The hub is cast in and not...

Any portable air compressors to run off battery lead?

There is no question here. I have personally verified it work. On multiple bikes and multiple compressor units. It works as shipped. if the battery tender leads are installed correctly for the tender to plug in normally.

Where are you guys getting these internal Can-Am service bulletins?

There are several CanAm techs here and in the facebook group that have access to BOSSWEB where BRP publishes them to the dealers. They do not post them directly due to implications, but the data gets out.....

Any portable air compressors to run off battery lead?

Not quite true. This one is designed specifically for use on motorcycles and plugs in directly to your battery tender lead. Have several of them on different bikes and several friends that use them. Manufacture also provides good support after sale and the unit works well if a bit slow due to...

Thoughts on Pedal Commander vs Pedal Box - & where's yours mounted?

PB for the 998 bikes (the ones with drive by wire only) is in development and should be available in the next few months.

    Project RE-Key F3

I can confirm you can do option 2 and get into BUDS to program new keys or disable DESS with a non-chipped or new key not matching the bike. Been there and done it. You just need the key to mechanically work in the lock cylinder and turn on.

BEST Warranty - should this VCM/HCM module job be covered?

The modules are covered if they fail. Yours sounds like it got dirt or debris in it which is not a failure, but a service/maintenance issue. Since all they did was clean it out and reset it, the warranty coverage leaves a good bit open to interpretation. I can also tell you they are much more...

    Project RE-Key F3

There are 2 ways to go about this. The BRP prescribed way is to replace the ignition switch which will come with 2 new keys that can then be programmed to the bike. I will warn you that this is a LOT of work as you will have to drill out the old lock then disassemble. The other way is to have...

New 2022 RTL Parking brake releases when parked! Ideas why?

There is no 'holding brake' inside the motor. Its a simple worm gear drive motor. GM window motor to be exact. The worm gear is self locking. That is, no amount of torque on the pully will cause the worm gear to spin.

Red Dust of Death Recall???? Front Sprocket Recall - FINALLY....

When you pull the sprocket, you can see the face of the shaft seal. Its rubber faced. From the parts breakdown, the bearing is right behind that seal. The sprocket rides against the shoulder on the shaft, it does not touch the seal. Adding a collar will space the sprocket outward by the...

Red Dust of Death Recall???? Front Sprocket Recall - FINALLY....

I am not believing it either. The sprockets since 2019 are still having the issues. (White sprockets). Had a 2020 F3 in the shop recently covered in red dust. Not subject to the recall...but at least for that owner, still under warranty. Putting a washer behind the sprocket WILL NOT solve...

Need a new Rear tire - any suggestions?

We have sold and installed a large number of Yokohama Advan Fleeva (and the S-Drive before that) to many happy customers. Its much better traction wet and dry than the OEM kenda and yet manages to average about 18k miles. Great tire from a top tier manufacture and MADE IN USA. Not the...

Red Dust of Death Recall???? Front Sprocket Recall - FINALLY....

So 6 weeks and counting since the cyber attack and they are STILL using it as an excuse to not conduct business or fulfill obligations. Nonsense.

What size are the oil Drain Plugs?

No need to replace the plugs with hex. Use the correct tools to remove and they come right out. I have literally done several hundred oil changes on Spyders and not had trouble getting out a single plug that was not already mangled by using the wrong tools.

Front Pulley, Red Dust, and no outside flange! Are there 2 types of pulley?

The side with the part number and MADE IN USA faces out. The other side has an X denoting wrong side.

2013 Spyder RSS Replacement Key Question

This is an easy one to pin. If the key slides into the lock but will not turn, its the cut that is wrong and its the correct blank. Wrong blank will not slide in. Simple as that. Your locksmith cut the key wrong. Take it back, along with the bike and ask him to work on it to fit correctly...

Has anyone got the permanent fix for their sprocket?

I will make this easier for you. Your dealer is feeding you a bad line of BS in hopes you will just go away. Replacement sprocket for the permanent fix is not yet available and cannot be ordered. Your dealer can order and stock any parts they want to spend money on. The recall is to be...
