• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What is the latest & greatest 2014 RT Rear Tire?

We have installed MANY Yokohama ADVAN tires for the rear of Spyders. Much prefer them over the General or Vredestein because of the much better traction both wet and dry. Its a quality tire and Made in USA.

Your thoughts on When to change spark plugs?

80k on my own bike and its running very well on the OEM plugs. IF I were doing the work to replace them, I would be replacing the coils at the same time. Coils are far cheaper than the labor to get to them.

Is another extended warranty worth it? Where from?

NONE of the aftermarket service contracts are worth buying. Only the BRP BEST plan. Once you are past that one, you are on your own until you buy a newer bike.

Looking for better handling Tires on a 2015 F3-S?

Long history with many sets of these tires in Spyder service (both myself and MANY customers) have shown the complaints expressed by car owners do not apply when used on the MUCH lighter weight Spyder. Routinely get well over 50k miles from sets of the front tires. I replaced mine at over 70k...

Looking for better handling Tires on a 2015 F3-S?

Yokohama AVID S34FA 175/55R15. Its actually the only AVID in this size.

Looking for better handling Tires on a 2015 F3-S?

Having ridden bikes with both and long experience with the MADE IN USA Yokos, ON SPYDERS. I will have to disagree. Besides, customer ratings of tires on a Volvo station wagon have very little to nothing to offer a Spyder owner. Also on Tire Rack's site, you cannot compare ratings for tires in...

It will cost me $1500 - don't make the same mistake

Sorry, but I disagree with the conclusion that pushing the bike using the handlebars is the cause of his steering slop. Its a worn steering unit, has nothing to do with pushing it. And by the way, have seen brand new bikes with more slop than that. Some have much less. There is some free...

Done - Rear Tire Replacement on my 2020 RT!

This all seems like a lot of trouble to avoid removing one bolt through the lower shock mount. Then the swing arm drops down, all tension on the belt and axle shaft is gone and there is also no need to remove the muffler.

Anyone have ideas on fitting Mechanical Parking brake? 2011 RT

This is not true for semi auto Spyders. At idle or bike off, the clutch is disengaged so it does not matter what gear its in, it free rolls.

Why would you not just fix the broken parking brake?

Sprocket Recall - What's Wrong With BRP's Logistics?

Smoak made the job far worse than it needed to be because he did not know what he was doing. A 3 arm harmonic balancer puller with nuts behind the sprocket would have had it off in less than an hour. He did not need to break the sprocket, destroy and cut off the rear flange nor buy that...

Sprocket Recall - What's Wrong With BRP's Logistics?

He can't remove it because he is using the wrong type of puller. You cannot pull on the flange, it will just snap off.....as he found out. Still its more than a 36 minute repair even if you use the right tools.

Finally have to replace a Vredestein rear tire.

ADVAN Fleeva V701. 205/55R15. Its a direct replacement for the S-Drive we ran for years before the ADVAN. Nearly identical tire.

Finally have to replace a Vredestein rear tire.

Abysmal is when you twist the throttle on a warm day and dry black top and the rear tire just spins with little forward thrust. This is what hard rubber station wagon tires do...but they do last longer even though they do not grip well. Not just an opinion. Back to back testing albeit on two...

Finally have to replace a Vredestein rear tire.

The Yokohama ADVAN has MUCH better traction both wet and dry. No, it will not last 30k miles. Averages about 18 to 20 but with far better traction than this tire or the OEM Kenda.

Finally have to replace a Vredestein rear tire.

Its a hard rubber tire, yes it lasts but traction is abysmal. Was not impressed at all. About as bad as a Kumho. Sorry but these are not a great tire for a Spyder.

Front Sprocket Seized on shaft, dealer doing Recall work - any suggestions?

Very common actually. Tell them to get off the phone and use a 3 arm harmonic balancer puller to take the sprocket off.
