• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Riding in the Heat

I thought this deserved to be brought up again as we get into hot weather. I know as I advance in age, illness, and medications I tolorate heat less and less.

Losing a bit of faith in Can Am - enjoy the riding, but not the endless waiting while they find parts and fix all the niggling issues!

Try an online parts house and see if they are any better. I have used Can Am Parts King with good success.

Trailer hitches - will a 2011 Swing arm hitch fit on a 2024 Limited?

Will a hitch from a 2011 fit on the swing arm of a 2024 RT Limited. My friend is buying a 2024 RT Limited and wants to know if his hitch will fit. He has an RT-622 Trailer with low miles. The hitch is a BRP hitch mounted on a 2011 RT. TIA. His 2011 has become a boat anchor.

I need a GOOD replacement part! 2012 RT Rear Calliper Part #705600921 - anyone got a line on one?

These people show it as available Can Am Parts King www.canampartsking.com. I have ordered from them before with success. I also have a 2012 to keep on the road. BTW, if you take the time to get a free membership, the prices are a lot lower. www.canampartsking.com

    A New Trend is Happening

I had an 83, an 86, 87, 88, 08, and an 08 RSV. I loved that v4 motor. I put close to half a million miles on various ones. Wrecking the 08 RSV is what put me on trikes.

Has anyone used the Semi rigid bag on their RT? Thoughts?

I have all 4 bags (trunk also) as that is what came with my Spyder. I use all but the small trunk bag. I like the large frunk bag the best. I also have a cooler bag from Walmart that fits in the frunk that I use on day trips and a soft bag that fits in the well at the rear for tools. Spare...

Has anyone added Marvel Mystery Oil - any comments?

Not since the days of my Bridgestone 350 or my Norton Commando have I added MMO to engine oil and then it was only to the transmission. Both had dry clutches. I do add a tablespoon to the fuel as fuel system cleaner and top end lube.

Having trouble opening/lifting the Drivers Seat - anyone else? Any fixes/solutions?

On the older models the post is adjustable. If yours is also, you might try adjusting it so that it is not so tight against the latch. Also, a little dri slide on the latch and the post will make it operate easier.

    Steering Darting issue solved!

Trent, I am glad that you got to the bottom of that trouble. Someone mentioned that they solved their DPS problem by replacing the battery. On older Spyders, this was a known problem, that a DPS problem signal could very well be the sign of a low charging or failing battery. If you get a DPS...

What are your Phone Holder Preferences? Brand/style & placement?

I use the Ram phone holder and the Ram mounting hardware. I use Ram RAM-B-149Z-A-PD4U to hold the phone and if I were building it today I would use an ATV/UTV strap base mount. Back in the day I used a Ram Mounts Ram B 309 1 U Motorcycle Brake/Clutch Reservoir Ball Base With B Size 1" Ball held...

Throttle body whistle from BajaRons intake system - any tips to reduce the noise?

I am sorry I expressed myself so badly, but Peter's discription is what I was refering to, move the whole thing not just the paper element but everything. Look at the whole installation. I do have an increased intake roar, but not that much and at cruising you can't really hear it. But no whistle

Throttle body whistle from BajaRons intake system - any tips to reduce the noise?

I have been running this air cleaner since 2016 and have never noticed a whistle. It does have a louder roar then stock, but barely so. If yours is whistling then I think you have an air leak somewhere and you will have to access the air cleaner and see if you can find it. This is going to be...

    I am now Spyderless

Well, somehow I missed this back in February, so I'm late to the party. I, too, am coming to that time when I will be taking my last ride. I am very sorry to hear of your situation, but I completely understand. Most of my riding friends have quit, gotten too old, sick, or just plain passed on...
