• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

re Installation instructions for Lamonster belt tensioner?

I installed one on my 15 RT this spring.. Its pretty easy to see where it goes after you remove the long plastic left side panel. Just one top bolt and one bolt of the front side of the frame piece; and center the roller on the belt before you tighten them down. If you email Lamont, I...

GEARBOX; New Torque Spec. in Purchased Manual.

And as BajaRon says, torque on Oil Plugs will get you in trouble since Torque unless otherwise stated is for DRY clean threads, and the oil drain plugs will always be lubed with oil seeping from the case except for the new assembly. If the engine case was rebuilt and threads cleaned with an...

Adjust camber on RT front end

Locomotion, our 11 RT had the wear on the inside of the right front as you described, and was cured by a good ROLO alignment by Lamonster garage. I did rotate the OEM tires by remounting as Jaybros described, but that was many years ago. We put 14 inch Michelin Defenders on front and a...

    Tire rotation interval 2019 F3L ?

Years ago with the 2011 RT and the OEM Kendas I had the fronts remounted and rotated one time - (I dont remember the mileage) - like Peter said. Since we now have the assymetrical Formozas on the F3, and Nankangs and Kumhos for the RT I just swapped the wheels on the front of the RT last week...

Is the 'Rocking' Ride Characteristic correctable?

Car and truck traffic will wear a 6 to 7' track width on older roads The Spyder track width of 4 1/2' will make the front wheels "hunt" if you drive in the middle of the lane as usual. On older roads I just slow down and choose to put the rear wheel in one of the tracks and let the fronts...

    Hydration on long rides

http://www.lamonstergarage.com/can-am-spyder-f3-fmb-bottle-holder-lamonster-ips/ Wife loves it on her 16 F3T---especially as her med condition requires staying hydrated. Spares on ice in the frunk.

    Oil change light

Because there is something about smelling that fresh oil, and watching that "golden elixir" pour back into our rides that gives us the feeling that Boy this engine is running smooth and right now!!! Gotta love jumping on an oil thread...Sorry, now back to the regular programming!

    Battery Tender Cable Installation

We haven't had any issues with disconnecting the battery leads on the wifes 16 F3T or RTs. On the F3 we routed the SAE lead out the left side behind the A-arm and zip-tied it to the top A-arm with a black zip tie. Its handy for the battery tender and for a portable compressor with a 7.5...

Uneven Brake pad wear - does it need aligning again? Why?

Well, all I can think of is that the right side sees more dirt from the side of the road and the caliper gets dirtier and doesn't slide as easily to balance and center and therefore the wear is more lopsided. - Thats all I got.... but makes more sense than the service or dealer...

    Stripped bolt heads and more.

I formerly used the blue loctite a lot on attaching fasteners on my two wheelers and it carried on with the Spyders. However the last couple of years I've backed off of torquing most things on the Spyder and they seem to stay put with just the firm tightening With the right sized ratchets and...

    Overheating problem on 2014 RTS

One of the bigger issues if you put a lot of highway miles on in "Buggy" country. Even the look of the new 2020 RT shiny radiators facing right into the breeze makes me anticipate the plugging problems down the road. Grilles help somewhat, but still a problem on our bikes at 50,000...

    Spyder group riding etiquette

We enjoy riding with a small group of friends including multiday trips, but as the years go by recognize that our reflexes and reaction times have changed. Mainly we just like the freedom of a more casual ride pace, and safety of groups of 4 to six at most. Just how we ride. An overall...

Which section of road do you usually ride your Spyder ??

When I'm by myself, I'm wherever the road is smoothest and fitting the line through the curves. When leading ahead of my wife or others, I usually favor the right side of the lane so the spyder behind can see past me for oncoming traffic and hazards, and so that cars that may be wanting to...

Do you take turns driving your Spyder with your husband, wife or significant other ??

I started riding the old RT when my Road King wouldn't start and we had a trip planned. I enjoyed gawking at the scenery, but my wife is very much a 1-up operator, so when she traded up, I got her old one. Now we're a two Spydee family:shemademe_smilie:

    Kenda k20's are on

Thanks for posting the pics of the new Kenda Kanines. I like the looks of the tread, and anxiously await reports on the wear longevity and roll of the new Kanines. Did it take much weight for balancing the new tires? One of the "features" of the OEM Kendas that I always noticed is that...
