• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Are Cluster features able to be added or removed with BUDS?

You are correct the Spyder senses its configuration while you're waiting on the safety delay. Not only the presence of modules (eg RDO) but also matches model and serial numbers (an F3 TCM can't be used on an RT).

No, the instrument cluster is one of the eleven. I'm getting nervous here. Did you buy and read that $24.50 service manual I suggested in message #30? If you haven't then we're really not able to move forward with a solution before your dealer appointment. Apologies I couldn't help more...

Review: M2 Spring Kit Upgrade for Spyders

Thanks for providing the part # for the front Eibach springs. Would you please provide the part # for the rear Eibach spring. I've used Eibach springs for other (automotive) applications and I believe you will remain very pleased for their performance.

Brake fluid in Reservoir & above the seal - anyone else seen this?

Thanks. Cooling off my brains now. Will return to normal during beer cat time this evening.:D

That is correct -- CANBUS High and CANBUS Low. They are White wires with a stripe. For my Spyder the Black stripe is Low and the Beige stripe is High. The Black wire on the DB6 is Ground. Both CANBUS circuits should be isolated from Ground. High-to-Low should be around 100ohms. The eleven...

Checked the oil before starting the bike and the dipstick was dry

The 1330cc engine is dry-sump. When the engine isn't running, the oil slowly drains from the reservoir into the sump. The dipstick measures the reservoir level not the sump level.

Anyone else have Fuse Blowing for Parkers/Plate lights? Brake switch recall related?

When does the fuse fail? Key-On/Engine-Off Key-On/Engine-Running Engine-Running/Spyder-Moving And did the lights work properly before or has this failure always occurred once you took possession of the Spyder?

I believe you mean the BUDS access point. The DB6 connector is located at the front right under the cover you need to remove for coolant access. There are five wires. You have to gently pull the connector out of its little storage pocket to access the pins. Be careful. There is always...

Brake fluid in Reservoir & above the seal - anyone else seen this?

Yes you did an excellent job with file names. Racking my brains for why the color differences between calipers. I think it's related to different circuits for the fail-safe brake connectivity. But there are other possibilities... I really appreciate the detailed information you provided --...

Brake fluid in Reservoir & above the seal - anyone else seen this?

From a pure hydraulic perspective (ie medium is inelastic) there is no old-new fluid mixing. From mechanical and chemical perspectives, there is old-new fluid mixing. Granted it's small but in my experience it's beneficial.

F3-T Stuck in First Gear (Ostensibly) and Won't Start?

Your Spyder was in first gear but the clutch was disengaged. Spyder SE6 clutch engagement is controlled by the TCM using a line pressure (the HCM has its own pressure and scavenge pumps) twice that of engine pressure. It this TCM control that provides the Spyder's smooth takeoffs and shifts...

Any insight on Instrument Cluster compatibility - will a 2013 cluster work on a 2015?

WRT PBM, here's my hypothesis. The drive is a high-ratio combination of a metal worm gear and plastic (nylon?) worm wheel. The drive operates properly with light loads but binds under heavy loads, which the WPM detects and releases the power relays (there are two). The detection may be...

Brake fluid in Reservoir & above the seal - anyone else seen this?

Concur with Ron. That is badly contaminated fluid in the reservoir. WRT fluid above the separator seal, that could be water (via the cap) or brake fluid (via the edge). Neither is of much concern. This is going to be a multi-stage process. 1) Start with at least 16oz of DOT 4 fluid (I use...

Okay let's try some hardcore trouble-shooting as SS recommends is needed. Remove each and every fuse and measure their continuity with your DVOM. With the Ignition Off measure the following resistances at the DB6 BUDS connector: CANBUS Low to CANBUS High CANBUS Low to Ground CANBUS High to...

amusher -- things are getting weird here. Time to get back to the real world.* It seems you haven't purchased a service manual. Time to buy one (about $20-$30). Next read it particularly the section on Electronic Engine Management. And then find some friend(s) who are comfortable with...

Any insight on Instrument Cluster compatibility - will a 2013 cluster work on a 2015?

To answer your question directly, apparently not, probably for CopperSpyder's reasons. This is not for the weak-kneed but we're talking $1,300 here. Start at: https://www.canamseadooskidooparts.com/oemparts/a/cam/546f7940f870022084623d6c/electrical-system-front-view You already have the...

I assume you are letting it idle rather than engaging it in gear and then moving forward. If so this points to a module has lost connection to the CANBUS. Most of your U codes aren't in my 2014 service manual but the few that are point to the TCM. But I doubt it will be that simple. An...

Of course it wasn't going to be easy. Notice the P0556 code was the ECM not hearing from the VCM. Also notice the brake electrical circuit goes to the ECM while the hydraulic circuit goes to VCM. There's no information crossover except via CANBUS. And notice all those Uxxxx codes? They're...

Had to step away apologies for delay. My 2014 service manual says P0556 ECM Brake Pressure on CAN not valid. If no valid brake pressure on CAN is available from VCM, a system check can not be realized. Therefore the condition for a non plausible brake signal is set after a certain time...
