• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    HUD for Spyder

Hey Bob, the HUD's I have seen use a semi transparent reflective film which sticks to the inside of the wind shield. Example You might want to retest with something like a thin sheet of mylar or similar. Probably doesn't help the viewing angle, but you should get some reflection even in sunlight.

    Funny/Scary 2 Up "Issue"

LOL this is a funny thread. I installed arm rests to help my wife feel more secure. Fortunately for me and unfortunate for my wife, I tend to not travel in straight lines for very long and I like to "have fun". We enjoy traveling together and she has told me there is no way she could fall...

    ipod question

There are a lot of assumptions with this setup. 1) what's the quality of your audio files? 2) did you check the ipod before connecting to the Spyder and listen to the music on different headsets, and output devices? 3) are you using any eq settings? 4) did you use the ipod connector or the mp3...

All the 2016 Spyder Lineup info posted here!

Yay... my 2014 RT is still relevant and I would like to order a USB port now. I wonder if I can have both the iPort and the USB wired to the audio system?

    Persnickety Harely Riders

Hey there. I don't have anything to add about HD riders but I am really curious about your setup. Can you give me some details on your rig, what your towing, and how you planned your overnight stays? Looks like an awesome time. The wife and I are planning a similar trip around the Canadian...

    Warming Up

I will wait till the RPM's drop to 900 before I take off. That's only a minute after I start the Spyder. I noticed there wasn't that awful clunking sound when putting it in gear if I wait.

I tore my Spyder apart (and lived to tell the tale)

This post is not exciting and has no pictures. I just wanted to offer some words of encouragement to those like me who have been waiting AND dreading that time when they will have to work on the Spyder for maintenance or pleasure. I've had my Spyder for almost a year, it has 7k+ miles and I...

Wow. Thanks for sharing. I am glad he is ok, though I would think he is going to be awfully sore when the shock wears off.

    RUST?

For a Spyder that is less than a year old, never seen salt, washed / rinsed weekly, garaged when not ridden, and only seen rain 3 times I was surprised to see the on set of rust when I started taking it apart today. Are there any other owners battling this over the long haul and should I be...

Anyone know what this paint color officially is called

You can search the threads for the terms wash, wax, pledge, polish and there will be lots of different recommendations. I use regular ole' Pledge. I have read for years on other forums and recently on this one that it does well. I have to agree. Very easy to apply and the sheen seems to last...

Nelson Rigg Half cover for Rt Limited

Add another happy Nelson Rigg Half cover owner to the list. Just be cautious when applying tension to the cover, and make sure the antenna whole is positioned correctly or it will snap.

    GPS to plan my route.

I have this bookmarked but haven't yet used this method of importing routes to Navigon. So far I have been just fine planning and editing routes on my mobile device or tablet. http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/google-maps-export-iphone-turn-by-turn-finally.874100/

    GPS to plan my route.

Navigon - Thumbs Up I've never replied to a GPS thread but thought this would be a good time to chime in. I use Navigon exclusively. It doubles as my car GPS, my kids and wife also use it. It has a motorcycle mode, +/- scenic mode. We use these all the time while also setting the app to...

Looking for USB charger that fits where passenger grip controls would go.

That could work nicely. 2 washers one top and one bottom with some silicone sealant. Paint them black. Thanks for the idea.

Looking for USB charger that fits where passenger grip controls would go.

Thanks for the link Highwayman but I wasn't looking for dash mount, or maybe there was another product on the site I couldn't find?

Looking for USB charger that fits where passenger grip controls would go.

I would like to add a USB port to the passenger area. The obvious place would be the accessory hole where the passenger controls would be for heated grips since our Spyder doesn't have those and we don't see a need to add those. Has anyone found a USB port that fits nicely in this hole? I am...
